Anyone watch this last night?

Cannot remember the actual Agatha Christie plot, so it seemed reasonably fresh.

Kept trying to place the main actress, then realised she was the very glamorous Harry Palmer associate from the tv version of The Ipcress File last year.

Part 2 tonight, then final part tomorrow.

We watched it, made a change from all the gratuitous violence dished up recently.

After the last few "re-imaginings" of Agatha Christie novels I had my fingers crossed about Hugh Laurie's version. So far he is living up to my hopes. Some changes, but nothing that interferes with the story, plenty of humour (when I first read Agatha Christie I was surprised how funny she could be), and such a good cast.

Enjoyed it a lot and delighted I don’t have to wait a week for the next episode

I binge watched it yesterday. Won't comment until everyone has seen all of the episodes.

I enjoyed it immensely. The actor playing Bobby Jones is very sweet and naïve.

I enjoyed last nights episode. Looking forward to part 2 tonight.

DH and I are really enjoying it. Great fun.

We watched it on Brit Box last year but enjoying it again.

It's good fun, and well-acted. Looking forward to tonight's episode.

Great fun, and looking forward to tonight

I am watching it , but they don't half have a load of advert breaks! Also I am finding Lady Francis " Frankie" very hard to understand, I put the subtitles on last night and will probably do it again tonight, everyone else is fine, it is just her intonation.

I’d been watching Great Expectations on BBC1 but wasn’t really enjoying it so tuned in to watch Why Didn't they Ask Evans instead. I made the right choice. Looking forward to tonight’s episode.

Thanks, something to watch later 🙂

We changed over from Great Expectations too (my expectations were not being met, although DH has recorded the rest to watch on his own!).

Yes, there are one or two changes from the book but this is not a great classic like Great Expectations so, as long as changes are not crucial to the plot and don't annoy, it's enjoyable escapism.

This has been the best (only decent) thing on tv over Easter.

Am loving Frankie’s different outfits. Did she have a suitcase with her after her ‘accident’?

So many changes of clothes!

Superb cast beautifully acted, lovely locations humour and thrills!

Frankie is played by Lucy Boynton, who as a child played

Posy Fossil in the film of Ballet Shoes, with Emma Watson as Pauline.

I said that - she has quite a wardrobe with her!!

I couldn't really remember much of it from the book, which I probably read when I was about 15 umpteen years ago, but as soon as something was mentioned near the end I remembered who Evans was.

No spoilers 😀

Excellent!

I’ve watched this over 2 nights, it I think I’ve snoozed in parts of it as I arrived at the end just as confused as after episode 1. Oh dear I had better look for a synopsis! Beautifully done though although I’m afraid Marchbank would never pass for Wales.

I recognised Three Cliffs Bay on Gower but it was supposed to be set in North Wales.
Much of the filming took place in Surrey and Cambridgeshire. It must be difficult to find places in the right areas which look authentic.

I know it’s probably me (hearing not quite what it was) but does anyone else find Frankie’s dialogue hard to understand? Gabbled and not very well e-nunc-i-ated!! I don’t have trouble with any of the rest of the cast.

I dare say we need a sound bar!
I can’t help comparing Honeysuckle Weeks in Foyle’s War, who did that 1930s ‘posh’ accent so very well, and perfectly intelligibly.
