Is this the best program on TV just now?

If the 2 women don't win I shall be so disappointed! They are inspirational.

(I couldn't find another thread on this, apologies if I've missed it.)

I didn’t mind who won at the end, it was so tense right till Cathie and Tricia opened the book. Really enjoyed it and would love to visit Canada!

I watched half the reunion programme and will finish the rest today. What is lovely is how pleased they genuinely seemed to see each other again. My favourites were Mobeen and Zanaib but actually any of them deserved to win in the end if only for 7 weeks of carrying a big rucksack everywhere. Not dure I could do it .Plus with my bladder I would find catching lifts and all that travel hard!Quite envious of their experience though !

They so deserved to win. I was afraid that they had taken the wrong decision on the last leg but it all worked out brilliantly for them. They made so many good friends who looked after them and went out of their way to help. What lovely people they all met in Canada. Ladi and Monique were a great father-daughter partnership and I'm pleased for them that they finished the race and cemented their relationship.

What a ending you couldn't really call it until the very end.
I'm pleased that Cathie and Trisha won it, but I was rooting for all of them in the end.
Love these series, the follow on after the news was worth watching as well.
Well done BBC on this series.

Only just caught up with this week's - I'd now be content to see either Ladi and Monique or Zainab and Mobeen win. I'm starting to lose a bit of patience with Cathie and Tricia now.

Cathie and Tricia have now considered doing the same as Kevin and Claudia which we all, on here, slated them for .... Tricia suggested waving smugly to the ones who couldn't get on the bus.

I have gone off them even more now.

The other one did sound shocked and said No, to be fair to her.

Having been so lucky with the lady from the Cannabis shop, Kevin should've bought a scratchcard. He would've won enough to get a taxi to the finish!!!!

I’m not watching, but just found out Kevin and Claudia live about 3 miles away from us!

I know I shouldn't but I keep hoping Kevin and Claudia will run out of money...

You and me both. I don't like their attitude - either of them.

I agree, I'd love to see how they'd cope.. I rather like the two doctors as their story reveals itself

Callistemon21 Fri 28-Apr-23 14:35:37

I just keep thinking, even if they get a cleaning job, they'd come out of the toilet smelling of roses.

I’m rooting for Cathie and Tricia. I think the programme is focussing a lot on their motivational speeches but maybe this is going on with other couples and it’s not deemed good television. Monique is doing well and Ladi is great, I didn’t like Zainab much to start with but more as time goes on. Don’t like Kevin and Claudia at all and will be so disappointed if they win, their attitude stinks.

Have totally loved all three series. When one of my favourite series came to an end I was so glad I found this one. Like some other replies I too am getting quite fed up with Tricia and Cathie's continually hugging and constantly encouraging each other speeches. But on saying that, no shame in encouragement but it is repeated over and over again. However, to attempt this event when you cannot see very well at all is very inspirational and a courageous thing to do.

I'm rooting for Zainab and Mobeen and Ladi and his daughter Monique but not keen at all with Kevin and his daughter. When he waved through the window of the coach as it departed at the two ladies and sneered because they were unable to get on showed what sort of person he is.

This series has scotched MrOops plans of ‘driving across Canada’! What a daft idea it seems now we have seen how enormous it is.
I was surprised that a lot trains only run twice a day, although I guess they have more customers that way, but travelling on Public transport has difficulties that I hadn’t considered.
I’m surprised that more of the couples didn’t think to take a Motel out of town when the Grand Prix pushed up all the prices, well done Ladies.
Although on hearing that my DHs kidney transplant had failed and he was now on Dialysis, I would have abandoned the race and come home.
I’m now rooting for Ladi and Monique, it’s been more than just a journey across Canada for them.

I’m with you brummie. They’re so cloyingly sweet with each other!

I agree. I liked them at first but now I'm fed up with the motivational sugary speeches too.

Ladi is a lovely man and Monique is getting "less princessy" as time goes on, so I hope they win.

I have just watched Series 2 on iPlayer, and the winners there were a couple I didn't find at all likeable. Maybe it's just me smile But I can highly recommend that series as the scenery is incredible with some fantastic architecture in the various countries they crossed. It was a much harder challenge with many different languages and currencies.

Am totally enjoying this series unfortunately I didn't watch 1 or 2 and I agree Kevin and his daughter would not be worthy winners. I also would like the two ladies to win.

I’m hoping Ladi and Monique will win. Ladi is an amazing person and so inspirational . Monique is thriving as the journey increases in difficulty. Zainab and Mobeen are my second favourites. They handled the situation with the Christian family with great dignity and sensitivity making it a positive situation for all. Tricia and Cathie spoil the program for me . I find the ‘motivational’ speeches uncomfortable to watch and feel they have added nothing to the series. The two brothers who left early on were beginning to develop their relationship and I think it is sad that they had such an early departure.

Enjoyable programme, love seeing a lot of Canada beautiful scenery. I thought it was wrong that the ladies lost their lead, by making everyone leave the hotel at the same time because of polar bears. The ladies should have left first, then the others by the number of hours they were behind them.

Best let them get eaten then, eh? grin

Nannashirlz Sun 23-Apr-23 16:54:41

I’ve also watched the other two seasons and I’d love the two women to win but that’s because they not acting like two princess and because one of them is losing her eyesight

NorthowramGran Sun 23-Apr-23 16:14:03

My most favourite tv programme ever. It’s been a long three years waiting for this new series. Although this series isn’t quite as good as the previous two it’s certainly making me want to visit Canada. Monique and Ladi to win for me, what a nice person he is.
