A comedy sit-com from Australia.

Pitch perfect.

What channel is it on?

Whitewavemark2 Thu 13-Apr-23 17:45:39

BBC 2

SPOILER ALERT!
I watched episode one because it was recommended on Must Watch by Hayley Campbell ( who I love!). I know that she often recommends things because she’s a bit homesick for Australia, but we do seem to have the same taste in programmes.I did like it but as a doggie person I felt uncomfortable watching something that made it look as if caring for a paralysed dog was easy and had to tell myself that it was a comedy and not a factual problem about spinal problems in dogs! They are married in real life. It’s very Sharon Horgan’ish and I am going to stick with it.

I might give it another go because I thought it was awful.

She also recommended Mr In-between on Disney plus. It is a bit BreakingBad’ish and is very violent but is quite moralistic as well. This weeks Must Watch had an all girl panel and they all agreed that Colin from Accounts was a Must Watch.

Didn’t really like it. Probably won’t watch it again.

Yes I can see that it is definitely a marmite programme. But I loved it.maybee I can see what you are saying, but I think honestly that most people would understand that.

As you know I love dogs but took it entirely in the spirit of the programme - I think that the fact that you saw Colin going about his business before the “accident” allows the watcher to go along merrily with the story. They are all actors. I just hope Colin got paid in bones😄

Brilliant programme, best laugh in
ages.

I have seen the trailer far more times than I want to. It has made me certain I do not want to watch the programme.

It's fab!

I did think the title wasn't very inspiring until I discovered who the Colin of the piece is, that face irresistible smile

Original, irreverent, vulgar, down right rude at times, but oh so funny, with a touch of pathos thrown in for good measure. Aussie humour possibly is an acquired taste but I've always really liked it, I cut my teeth on Kath and Kim, recommended by an Australian friend. Yes this could be Marmite, but I like Marmite and I like this. Husband and I binged on three of episodes last night.........and I do know some people who have a dog with one of those wheel contraption for his poorly, non functioning hind quarters.

I would recommend get past the first episode, setting the scene for what's to come.

Love it! It is gentle and lovely.

Also loving Cockfields.

The beginning of last nights programme had me in tears.

Where can I see Cockfields kitty please?

Whitewavemark2 Tue 25-Apr-23 19:54:48

Binge watched it over 2 nights really enjoyed it hope there will be another series.

Aveline Fri 28-Apr-23 14:09:53

Binged it yesterday. What a strange programme but I liked the characters and did surprise the cats by laughing out loud at times. Glad there's to be a second series but not sure they'll be able to match the sheer shock quotient of some of the events.

kittylester Fri 28-Apr-23 18:01:55

I think you need to get past episode 1.

We have just watched the penultimate one. There was one line that has had me giggling all day.

I too love Colin and the Cockfields.
We really need a good laugh these days.
