Just binged the series and whilst I didn't like all the makeovers still found it a lovely watch. So full of heart because Banjo and his husband have obviously become so part of the island community. I did like the fish shop and gin bar in particular. The cafe /book shop one irritated me because it was so rushed that you could see the paint was very patchy and I really wonder how that painted floor would stand up to footfall. Hoping there's another series though.

I thought the book shop part of the cafe didn’t really work. To me, in a book shop books need to be easy to browse through and pick up. And I worry about large glass areas that aren’t safety glass. But I’m just being picky. I’m having a duvet day as I’ve got a lousy cold and I’ve just finished watching it. A proper feel good programme. I do wish these programmes wouldn’t put time constraints on doing the work, though. It irritates me as much as the long pause when someone is eliminated from a series. Just goes to show how, as with Banjo and Ro, sometimes we can’t plan our lives, it’s just a case of stumbling upon the path we’re meant to take.

Just binge watched all six of Designing the Hebrides. Didn’t dislike any of them, loved both the Gin room and the Cafe/book shop. I love how so much of what he uses is recycled/reused, e.g. the copper from the old water tanks. Beautiful scenery in every episode, genuinely nice people, very enjoyable watch overall.

My favourite was the Fish shop ,wasn't too keen on the Bothy .I imagine you've seen the Christmas Home of the Year in the Scottish series * Maybee *? One of my neighbours in my last house ALMOST won it ,hers was the house that was Chrismas lovers dream according to BANJO .It was lovely but I coud never have that amount of stuff especally on stairs ...or the dusting .

AJ had a very good chance of winning strictly until her injury forced her to quit.

I can't watch that ad where she says phoe-o and I’m the least pedantic person you could meet.😬

Just started watching “Magpie Murders” on iPlayer, has Lesley Manville in it - looks promising.

I’ve been eternally grateful to whoever it was on gransnet that told me about Scotlands Home of the Year, because it got me through lockdowns. I don’t know where these little gems of programmes hide sometimes!

Binge watched “Designing the Hebrides” this week on iPlayer, having read about it here. Very enjoyable! Some lovely people in it - and the scenery is to die for. Would love to go back to that area, but I’m a midge magnet sad.
Not keen on all of Banjo’s makeovers in this series, but he certainly has an interesting approach. The Fish Shop looked great, and the Bothy. Not so keen on the castle turret room (bit OTT!) or the house by the lighthouse (rather plain), but the folks’ interactions are great.

I can’t find series 2 on iPlayer sad

Have you been watching Wales Home of the Year?

What stunning homes!

The winner of this week’s programme had the most amazing view. I don’t think I’d ever want to go out.

I wondered where she’d sprung from! I don’t recognise half the people on tv these days.

The programme on Channel 4 tonight is called The Big Interiors Battle. It's on at 8pm - 9pm

AJ Odudu is the host. She is the woman on the advert for a mobile phone camera who say, '..and when I take a foe-o (photo)'. She seems to be a very nice person but her pronunciation really irritates me.

I saw last years series. I enjoyed it but had become very fond of the presenters on the Scottish version.

Ch 4 8pm. Something like The great interior design challenge…

What is the one that is on tonight.

I don’t know! I just saw an advert for it very briefly and didn’t catch what it was or when it was on. I’m not even sure it was Ch4. I’ll do a bit of Googling. I miss Scotland Home of the Year and it’s presenters.

RE. Interior Design Challenge. I often wonder if the owners get to have their properties reinstated or changed following the revamp.

I wonder this as we were in Harrogate recently and saw the three shops featured on one episode. They still had some aspects of the design but but it was obviously not all as seen in the programme

I have watched a couple of the Banjo programmes and quite enjoyed them. I am planning to watch the rest.

I also watch the Interior Design Challenge with Alan Carr. I don't mind him. I do think that some of the premises have been a bit unfair to the designers in terms of size. For example, the hairdressers. The person who got eliminated (can't remember his name) had a huge double storey shop to redesign.

I also think they should give them a bit more time. They only generally have a couple of days. The rushing to finish the job is getting a bit boring these days. I think they should give them about four days so that they can do a proper job and not cut corners.

I binge watched Designing the Hebrides and loved it all.

Found this by accident on BBCiplayer. My favourite doer upper, Banjo, in a beautiful location (and sometimes with his lovely lurcher). I think there’s another house decorating programme starting on Ch4 tonight as well. Much better than the Alan Carr series ( although I’ll still, as an addict, watch that, too).
