Is Sarah seeing through Stephen? Sorry, but I missed the bit about Audrey’s letter - what is she covering up? Have all of Audrey’s relatives tried to defraud her?

I liked the scene by the river/lake ( love to know where it was as it looks lovely) .

The writers don’t seem to know when to tie up a story.

They just go on and on ad finitum, until we the viewers are sick to death of them and lose interest.

Thirded. It’s a shame as Ryan was likeable enough before the acid attack.

I thought the scenes with Paul and Billy were touching. I can understand Paul kicking back against the help on offer, even though he knows it’s for the best. I hope the wedding doesn’t have the usual soap drama - it would be good to see them happy in Paul’s remaining time.

Did Paul refer to his tripod walking stick as a cane this evening? I thought that was American terminology. I’ve never heard anyone in the UK refer to their walking stick as a cane.

Also Billy reminiscing about his mother’s “yard sale” Is that another Americanism or am I losing the plot?

We have yard sales in Norfolk and an area surrounded by cottages or houses usually off a main street is always called a yard.

Some years ago it was announced that the cast would be paid only when they were in a partcualr storyline - Liz McDonald (Beverley ???) was reported as saying that this meant a drastic pay cut for her and others. I watched an episode of Classic Coronation Street last week - Dev was in it, speaking quite normally, and looking rather handsome.

I’d forgotten about Aadi and the awful woman.

I catch Classic Corrie when I can, and the difference between that and now is marked. Even in general scenes where most of the characters aren’t really involved in a plot they are all there, in the Rovers or the factory, with maybe a one-liner to add. Now each episode is about a small number of characters and the rest can be off-screen for months. I know they have more screen time to fill than before, but I’m not sure how that explains it.

It feels like the Covid way of filming (where they had limits on the number of people in the studio at a time) has stuck, and it’s not as good. That is partly why the storylines can drag out so much - the actors go AWOL half way through and pick up where they left off weeks later. It takes longer for new characters to ‘bed in’, too.

Nurse Aggie must be working 24/7. She never appears nowadays (thank goodness). I assume she is in charge of the entire Weathy General.

Having said that, I don’t know if I’m mellowing, but I think both Ed and Michael’s former wooden acting has improved. They don’t irritate me like they used to.

No idea who looks after Glory. Another child bringing herself up.

What’s happened with Aadi and the affair with the married tarty woman? The actors must all be on holiday….

They didn't know Paul was in the flat. Maybe he could get a flat in the same place as Izzy (the disabled woman from the factory)? It's obviously a ground floor one.

In my view I am very surprised at Bill's attitude towards Paul...

Lastnight eepisode pushed my assumption further when he thought it appropriate to be sharing a bottle of vino with someone ( Todd 👎 ) and DISCUSSING innermost feelings knowing Paul is a mere 6ft away ?!?!?!.!.!

I heard that the writers had contacted the MND Association, and they were happy with the way things are being portrayed. The actor playing Paul has done a lot of research, too.

Paul's story is so sad and he's acting it very well. Somehow I seem to have heard of or know so many people with MND recently. It's truly awful. I hope the writers handle it sensitively as well as its effects on those around him.

I think Billy is slowly turning into Papa Smurf. They’ve even got the same bag.

I can no longer take Billy seriously with that very white beard on a very sunburnt coloured face all I can see is Father Cxxxxxxxx (I won’t say the word), it was dire even for Corrie
When is Ryan’s face going to look like real scaring and not some ham thrown at him I think that scarring has been done very poorly

Billy is being cringy and should back off from his over caring of Paul. Paul wants to live his life before he can’t. I didn’t mind the Pride theme, but how do they all manage to afford such amazing outfits out of nowhere?

It was dreadful tonight. Why do we have to have Gay Pride and procession featuring first and foremost in a programme to the extent there was hardly a scene where it wasn’t featured or mentioned. I know that a lot of the back room staff are gay but there are totally too many gay characters now for such a small street. Can we just not have so many drug scenarios or all the other exaggerated events happening? Criminals, murder, substance abuse, you name it, it’s there! Just some everyday events, comments, characters and some genuine amusing scenes would be a treat.
