Roll up, roll up!

The old one is full, so post your Corrie thoughts and observations here.

Oh no whiney winged bag is back from holidayhoped she might stayed there dreadful acting along with Dee the solicitor

Talk about opposite ends of the acting spectrum - Dev, Yasmeen and Ed are horrendous actors. Have they learned nothing, after all their years on Corrie? Especially Dev - irritating in the extreme! He’s been on Corrie for several decades, but his acting gets worse rather than better. But Billy and Paul are superb actors - the emotions are so real, so raw. They both know that their happiness together is very time-limited, but what a happy (if bittersweet) wedding day for them on last night’s episode. Beautiful and very poignant.

Please do not forget there is an episode on this evening. I am assuming we are missing Friday evening.

Dev was particularly horrendous last night but Billy and Apollo made up for it. I never knew that was his name.

A pity Yasmeen had a return ticket.

Yes, Bernie named her twins Apollo and Gemini. She was quite the hippy in the old days apparently!

Beechnut Tue 03-Oct-23 08:32:00

Sometimes Bernie calls him Apollo. I thought it was lovely when Billy said ‘Apollo, my Paul.’🥲

What I want to know is how they all fit in one house? Gemma, her mother, Chez and the silent quads and Joseph. 9 in one two up two down. No one would employ Gemma with her mouth except the Rovers so do hope it survives for quads sake.
The weddings were done beautifully, you just know the sadness to come. The two guys are brilliant actors.
Eddie and Dez and his daughter can't act, why are they on, also find his screen daughter very stilted.

It will be stuck to the sole of the bishop’s shoe before the week is over!

Primrose53 Mon 02-Oct-23 21:15:50

Once again, Cassie shouting at the top of her voice in the cafe and the two guys right behind her don’t even turn round to see what the commotion is. 🤣. Then she storms off and slams the door and they still don’t turn round.

It’s a toss up between Dev, yasmeen, and DeeDee’s dad (forgotten his name…. he so important 😂) for worst actor of the week

Doodledog Mon 02-Oct-23 21:04:24

Yup! All that happiness had to end badly, didn't it?

Billy made up for it in the wedding vows though.

And Apollo!

Doodledog Mon 02-Oct-23 20:35:46

Dev has been spectacularly bad tonight, hasn't he? How does such acting get past the production people?

NotTooOld

So the bar staff have lost their jobs and Gemma has applied to be assistant manager. I reckon there'll be a buyout by the Corrie residents then they can take turns to be in charge of the bar.

Who will be looking after the quads if Gemma gets to be assistant manager?
Oh of course I have forgotten the baby cupboard and the invisible childminders.

Dottydots Fri 29-Sept-23 18:40:39

There's one thing for sure, The Rovers will never disappear.

Agreed. It's always Coronation Street, the most popular soap evidently, that is disrupted by football.

Grannynannywanny Tue 26-Sept-23 09:22:56

I agree Doodledog. It’s disappointing to sit down with a cuppa all set to watch and realise it’s not on. I remember back in the days of the old VCR tape recorders when we had to plan ahead and set the recorder manually in advance for specific times. I hated when I’d arrive home from work at 10.30pm and sit down to watch Corrie and discover I’d recorded a football game 😡

Doodledog Tue 26-Sept-23 08:32:54

BTW - Corrie is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week
Thanks for the heads up, vr. It’s not critical in these days of viewing on demand etc, but why is it always Corrie that misses out to football? We loyal viewers are seen as dispensable- why not put the football in ITV2 or something? It’s about the only thing I watch live these days (Corrie, not the football!) and it’s maddening when they mess with the scheduling.

That scene in the Rovers was odd, Izzy and Sean loudly mocking and teasing Ryan. They'd have been whispering and glancing at him in real life.

CoolCoco Tue 26-Sept-23 06:00:37

I see Maureen Lipman won a best comedy performance at the soap awards. Well deserved!

vegansrock Tue 26-Sept-23 02:27:46

Carla barging into Ryan’s bedroom is weird and OTT. Punch ups at a funeral??

Yes, they are a good team. I know Todd and Billy were together at one point - were Todd and Paul ‘an item’ once too?

Craig is on secondment to CID, I believe. Maybe he is being supervised by Beardyman, who is just an extra so gets no lines?

vegansrock Thu 21-Sept-23 03:23:43

George and Todd are proving to be a good double act.

vegansrock Thu 21-Sept-23 03:22:40

Would Craig really be in charge at a murder scene? And who!s the guy with the beard who accompanies him and never says a word? Isn’t he a superior? I think Ryan taking off his pants in front of his laptop is more disturbing than Stephen stirring the canal with a stick .
