Am I being a bit slow but why is Phillip Schofield being thrown under the bus now? He came out about his sexuality , now revelations about an affair with consensual teenager that he covered up to protect identity , Maybe I'm being naïve but not sure why there has been such a big disconnect from TV at this point .

👏 👏 👏

Agreed, Fanny, and with all due respect to all concerned, it is the people telling others to shut up because we don't know what we are talking about who don't know what they are talking about.

FannyCornforth Mon 05-Jun-23 12:12:55

Doodledog that is the absolute crux of the issue with me (as, of course, you know, I’ve said it several times)
I, an absolute nobody with access to the internet, knew who the younger man was two years ago.
For Holly and others to not know what was <literally happening under their noses> is absolutely pathetically laughable, and they are taking us for fools

Kate1949 Mon 05-Jun-23 12:11:57

Understandable Fanny.

Oh, do we know who he is Fanny? Or do you mean he’s not anonymous to those in the know. I’m a bit confused.

It has been common knowledge who he is. He is not anonymous. His tweets to (and from) Schofield are in the public domain, too.

There are a number of levels to this - what is in the papers and on BBC/ITV, what is being said on channels like Talk TV and GB News who don't seem to have the same constraints and have interviews with people like Eamonn Holmes and others, YouTube and podcasts, online forums such as Tattle (a media gossip site), and insider knowledge from the media industries.

Some of these sources feed others (eg Eamonn's interview on GBTV being reported in the tabloids), but they are largely separate. A lot of the manipulation happens at the mainstream media level, as the other places exist to resist that, and a lot of the support for Schofield appears in those outlets too. The other sources are showing a lot more cynicism.

The name and details about the runner are being redacted from MSM reports, but to many people it is absolutely clear who he is, as are details about his employment status and so on. Not everything is idle speculation at all.

He is definitely not anonymous. There are videos of him online, also several pictures, although they are now blocking his face out.

His name has been mentioned several times on the thread, probably mostly by me, but I didn’t want to say it again, in case it set someone off on one 🫢

Willoughby is presenting herself as squeaky clean on This Morning , I bet she has told many a lie herself . If she were really best friends with Schofield she would be there for him , hook line and sinker, because that what best friends do for one another .
There are many who have had affairs in their lifetime and have covered their actions with lies and deceit . Politicians lie through their teeth , even the police have been known to lie to cover up their actions . The way the media / public goes on about Scofield one would think they theirselves are squeaky clean . As Jesus said “ he who is without sin cast the first stone “ ..”. !

I think it's very likely that there is more to it, which hasn't been made public. I get the feeling that he had got above himself and irritated a lot of people with his ego-ism. The so-called affair was an excuse to get rid of him.

Blossoming

I really wish Holly Willoughby would do something with her hair! It always looks such a mess.

A messy bob is on trend at the moment.

Fashions come and go in all things.

I think she always looks good on This Morning, most of her clothes are now pre-loved rentals.

FannyCornforth Mon 05-Jun-23 11:36:31

That’s true! (And especially so coming from you Blossoming!)

It looks exactly like she colours and cuts it herself (like what I do!)
The colour is too harsh and the cut is too blunt.
It’s odd because she is blessed with lovely thick hair

Millie22 Mon 05-Jun-23 11:36:16

I've gone right off Holly not that I was all that keen on her in the first place. As she was supposedly such a good friend to PS she must have known something wasn't right a long time ago.

It's all deeply unpleasant.

I’ve pmed you maddy

I bet his mum is proud of him Fanny. He’s kept his head down and made the right choices over this affair, in my humble opinion.

I can’t imagine how it must feel to be Holly and to have said that on national TV about someone who has been her best friend and colleague for years and years. Someone who I believe that she probably genuinely loved.

And I don’t believe her for one minute.

They are all as hard as nails

Damage limitation.

The show must go on.

FannyCornforth Mon 05-Jun-23 11:11:38

Maddy he isn’t anonymous at all, but he is definitely going to comeout of this with people’s respect, unlike the rest of them.
He will be able to hold his head up high.
I bet his mum is proud of him thanks

maddyone Mon 05-Jun-23 11:04:29

Oh, only just spotted your long post Doodledog. I don’t disagree with what you say at all. I don’t like PS and I’ve long held that opinion, but I didn’t know why I didn’t like him. I absolutely never watch This Morning, so it wasn’t from that. I must have seen him presenting elsewhere, or maybe it’s just from advertising, but I didn’t like either him or Holly Willoughby (is that the right spelling?) I think that they both come across as sickly sweet and false. I think that sums it up.
I feel sorry for the boy/man/lover (not sure what to call him) but I feel he’s making the right choice to stay out of it. As you say, powerful forces could ruin his life and reputation. If I were him, I’d keep my head down and get on with my life. By not approaching the press, he remains anonymous which must be to his advantage. I hope he has a happy life.

Blondiescot Mon 05-Jun-23 10:50:37

You would have to be, to not only make it in that business, but make it to the top and survive and thrive there for so long.

I’ve just seen a clip of this on television. Oh dear, how sickly sweet and innocent she wishes to appear.

It’s horrible. The whole sordid affair is horrible. The media have done this and as far as I can see, PS is lapping it up. Those photos with his poor mother were clearly staged, whenever they were taken. It reminds me of Meghan Markle, who always has a convenient photographer around whenever she wants one. PS and her seem to be cut from the same cloth.
