It was dire. The best part of the final was the cast of Les Mis.

So many excellent singers and a silly hi vis man wins.

Yes. I agree. A very disappointing and ridiculous result.

Thank goodness it is not only hubby and I who thought that the final was the biggest load of rubbish we'd ever seen.
What an insult to all the other finalists especially (in our opinion) Malachi and Travis.
What is the world coming to when the 'Pants Man' got the wild card and the idiot in hi-viz won £250,000. How old are we for goodness sake?
To be honest if we were the King and Queen we would find a freshly painted wall to look at (while someone rips out our fingernails) rather than attend the Variety Performance.
On the up-side - what a lovely sight seeing Susan Boyle singing with the cast of Les Mis. What a delight especially as she has been so poorly recently.
All we can hope is that there will be no BGT in 2024 but they've already started asking for acts so who knows?

DH and I watched the full series but felt so let down and annoyed by the judges ‘wildcard’ choice of that ridiculous man in his underpants. Why anyone in their right mind would find this even remotely funny or entertaining is just beyond me. As others have said, it just makes a mockery of all the real talent on there.
We were hoping the wildcard would go the The Jones Boys , the Welsh male choir but it didn’t. I felt so sorry for all those poor children who put their heart and souls into their performances only to be ‘beaten’ by a lunatic in a high viz jacket. I sincerely hope they won’t be expecting the King to wear one!

Very very disappointed with the result, absolute madness!!! A bloke prancing round the stage waving a high viz jacket - what's that all about? As the the chap " don't worry I'm wearing pants" there are no words to describe that exhibition!!!!? How on earth did he reach the semi final.

Those two clowns should not have been in the final. I did not think pants or high viz even mildly amusing. There was so much talent this year and it was heartbreaking for the adults so I do hope there were talent spotters. I know that the young teenage opera singer had been in contact with Andrew Lloyd Webber.
That fool Bruno Tonioli did not help either- I think that should be the last.

I never trust these ‘public’ votes. I’m sure it’s all fixed and that goes for Strictly as well.

Well it’s either that or the voters were just sticking two fingers up to GBT. Of course I blame myself as I didn’t vote and I suspect that the majority who did were youngsters who were happy to point their phones at the screen for an easy scan. Perhaps I am wrong and they were all thoughtful individuals who genuinely liked rubbish.

I thought there was so much young talent then it goes to someone prancing around the stage that really anyone could have done confused As for giving the wild card to some chap prancing around in his pants angry Perhaps it is time we had a BGT show just for young people and the contestants to be a permanent resident of Great Britain.

I dipped in and out of the semi's and the final and the result was totally ridiculous in my view. What a slap in the face to all the wonderful talent of other acts who had worked and worked to perfect their performance.

Joke acts like the guy in his pants.... I mean, whaat? So disheartening for the youngsters who gave it their all.

I just hope some talent spotters were watching to snap up the youngsters who sang and danced their hearts out.

BlueBelle Tue 06-Jun-23 07:09:27

It was blooming fantastic wasnt it ? the most talent (a lot coming from young people) I ve ever seen on BGT
I did like the zany mad Norwegian but agree he shouldn’t have won there were so many to choose from but have to admit I was rooting for the Ghetto Kids as I just thought what a wonderful happy, caring, loving spirit they brought into the stage when really they have nothing I also greatly admired Musa the dancer with one leg so incredibly clever
I think it was dominated by young talent which was fantastic

I went from ‘oh I m not bothering with BGT this year’ to loving it

Lovetopaint037 Tue 06-Jun-23 06:22:25

Am I alone in feeling disappointed and bewildered at the result. After all the hype we are left with the winner being a zany bloke waving high ,visibility jackets wildly in the air while skipping madly about the stage. The real talent was sidelined as other contestants were excluded at the end. It was down to the public vote so even more disappointing. So those Ghetto Kids, whose home could do so much with £250,000,that wonderful young boy who sang Pie Jesu and Puccini, that lovely Welsh Singer and the runner up a young talented dancer ,all bettered by an act which was amusing but that is all.
