Best Interests

I am really engrossed in this series and feel that it gives a balanced portrayal of both sides of the story. The acting is superb as is the storyline which is convincing and realistic.

Whilst I agree with the comments here I am left dumbfounded that the social worker, played by Mat Fraser - who is a both a magnificent human being as well as of an actor of high calibre and subtlety - was not portrayed giving his evidence. He was there to safeguard Marnie's interests, after all. I despair of all the relentless negative press regarding my former profession and feel the BBC missed a golden opportunity to show case our role in particularly difficult circumstances.

One of the best dramas I have seen in a long while. Brilliant acting!

A different situation but my friends sister had a stroke whilst on her own she wasn’t found for about 8 hours too late to save her brain she was in a coma but she could breath alone so for two years she lay in a vegative state until she died naturally
It was awful for everybody

I found last nights episode highlighted how it wasn't in the child's best interests, it must be hard to let go but not have life at any cost.

I thought it was a great piece of drama that highlighted what must be a growing problem for parents of children who are terminally ill. What a terrible decision to have to make for all the people involved.

I thought it was well acted, and scripted to present all sides, so far.

It is such a moving programme with excellent acting. Heartbreaking. I know it isn’t the same but my husband died very slowly of cancer, by the end it was a release for us all. I don’t know if it’s the same with your child, how can anyone know who hasn’t walked in their shoes. It’s made me think a lot about the futility of some treatments and the impact on the person receiving the treatment.

It was well acted and that is exactly what does happen in real life.

I believe it is on for another 3 evenings, my only hope is that it is not overdone by spending too much time in court. It was very watchable.

Don't know if it's an age thing but I'm finding that I no longer want to watch programs that entail sad situations especially involving children. I'd just rather not watch and get upset. So i chose not to watch it.

I found it very moving as well without being mawkish. All the main actors are excellent. What a dreadful situation to be in for the family.

I agree . It was extremely thought - provoking and very well acted. My admiration goes out to anyone coping with a difficult situation such as this and the whole issue was dealt with sympathetically to all those involved.
