Have been watching snippets on Sky. Tonight it’s Blondie and Robbie Williams. Is it just me but there don’t seem to be any new up and coming bands these days. I find people like George Ezra and Ed Sheeran quite bland ( I liked Ed when he was more folky). Maybe there are good new bands on the other stages. The Courteeners were on last night. Again, they’ve been around for years and were also a bit bland. I did like that girl singer, Ann Marie (?) who I must admit I’d never heard of. I guess I need to start listening to R6 again: I’ve been a bit off music recently.

Funnily enough that is exactly what we were talking about with the children this afternoon (Father’s Day - so they drifted over) and they were saying exactly the same.

Son has been going to local gigs lately, but I haven’t a clue about any of them.

I had a few days sans DH and the dog ( she doesn’t like loud music) recently so I had a couple on nights playing music quite loud and I ended up with the ringing in my ears I used to get after going to a concert! Dread to think what I’d be like if I went to a proper concert. BBC have been showing best of Glastonbury over the years and showed bands like Arcade Fire, Kasabian, Jack White, Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand etc. All very diverse and innovative. I found Billy Eilish totally boring last year but everyone raved about her. Maybe it’s just me sad?

…I must admit Toyah and Robert Fripp are good!

It's not the worst line-up for a festival that I've seen. I love Pulp and I've seen George Ezra live and he was anything but bland. Last week's Download Festival line-up was probably more my cup of tea though.

Was at Isle of Wight when Bob Dylan played August 1969 came on quite late & played for about 1 hour but quite mesmerising!

I was right in the middle about 1/3rd of the way up. Where you in, or on the hill?

By coincidence we were on the ferry over and back from the IOW but didn’t know anything about the concert til we got on the ferry crowded with youngsters ( some age as us probably) but we were already married so too skint to go to concerts. We heard about Dylan et al from fellow passengers.

We lived in one of the cottages opposite the field so had a ringside seat from the bedroom window.

My ex was there. I had a postcard from him signed ‘your camping hip freak’. When we split up I ripped it up….I wish I hadn’t now sad. He was going out with someone else at the time but it was always assumed that we would get married one day.
