THE SOUND OF FREEDOM

Any of GN US residents seen this film yet?

I think it is only released in USA at present.

For those who don't know it's the story of Tim Ballard an ex CIA operative in the Child Sex Slavery dept. who actually went out on his own with others to do something about this wholesale kidnapping and abuse.

The film has taken five years to overcome the difficulties put in it's way to help to shut it down.

I believe Disney were going to show it, but changed their decision.

Angel Studios (angel.com/freedom) are showing a preview and have set up a function to buy tickets which will be given away for free to those who can't afford to buy them.
A ticket costs $15

They want to get 2 million people to watch it, to represent the 2 MILLION children who are trafficked every year.

You can see a very good preview plus the actor Jim Caviezel explaining everything better than I can on the RADIO TIMES site.

Hopefully we will be able to watch it sometime in the UK soon, if only on a streaming platform.

Thank you for reading.

Tim Ballard is easily found on you tube, lecturing on the film and his previous career.
If anyone is interested in the authenticity of the film

Interesting it opened in the USA on 4th July.

Namsnanny Fri 07-Jul-23 15:51:26

Well, I think people have the time to go to the cinema on that day.
But it is only on until the 11th JULY

I meant the link between freedom and independence.

Namsnanny Fri 07-Jul-23 16:46:41

I'm sure that wasn't lost on the people deciding the release date jaxjacky
I was only thinking of the logistics of encouraging 2 million people to view itblush

Lovely Denzel Washington has come out in support of the film The Sound Of Freedom.

Should any USA grans be on here, please look it up and if you agree with the story line (which is based on a real person) show your support by going to see it.

Thanks for reading

Very good news

The Sound Of Freedom

Has grossed more than Mission Impossible

It cost 15million (such a small amount) made 115million and still building

Such a good result for such a worthy film.

Judging by the replies not many people on GN will be interested?
But nevertheless I thought I'd give a heads up, that The Sound of Freedom is playing in Vue cinemas across the country.

From today until Thursday 7th Sept.

It's £3 + booking fee on Sat.

I'm going to see it twice with 2 different types of people, so I'm looking forward to the discussions afterwards.

I'm also going to see Denzel Washington in Equalizer 3.
Good old fashioned 'get the baddies in the end' 🤣🤣🤣
But that's for another thread

Well, I've seen SofFreedom twice now.

Each time there was a round of spontaneous applause at the end.

What a great success in the face of so many obstacles, and undeniably a deserving cause.

I was very surprised SoF had an airing at a main stream cinema such as vue tbh.
I remember a film was taken down by a big chain a couple of years ago.
I wondered if the same would happen with this one.
