Fisk - Australian comedy series on Netflix

I binge watched all six (28min) episodes last night.

It is a 'Fast-paced comedy about high-end contracts lawyer Helen Tudor-Fisk, who is forced to take a job at a shabby, suburban law firm following a humiliating marriage breakdown and a professional fall from grace'.

I am a bit biased as I like Australian stuff anyway. I think they have a similar sense of humour to us Brits.

If you like Colin from Accounts you will like this.

There is only one season available (six episodes) but a second season was released in Australia in 2022. Hopefully, Netflix will add it to their listings.

Thanks for the heads up.
Yep will check that out. Loved Colin from Account's brilliant.

I've watched the first 2 episodes so far and like it. I wouldn't call it "fast paced", it's fairly gentle though acerbic in places. Refreshing to have a grown up 47 year old heroine

Oh great. I loved Colin from Accounts and Offspring
Ozzie programmes are often my favourites.

I agreed it isn't exactly 'fast paced'. I got the quote from the Netflix site.

The main character is a 47 year old woman with not so great social skills. Kitty Flanaghan plays Helen Tudor-Fisk, she is also the writer.

I highly recommend it.

Just watched episode 1. Really enjoyed it. I wouldn't have looked at it if it hadn't been highlighted on this thread. Thanks PinkCosmos.

Just watched the first of the second series. Both series are now in ITVX. Really enjoying this as well.

Another vote in favour.
Definitely funny. And harmless!
Thank you OP.

Thanks for this info. I didn't realise it was on ITVX. I thought it was only on Netflix

I have seen it now and recommended to chums. Loved it, so bonkers and funny.
Nice seeing parts of Melbourne again as well.

Thankyou PinkCosmos, I have just binged watch the whole series, totally loved it.
And if you haven't yet watched it, i can thoroughly recommend 5 Bedrooms, on BBCiPlayer.
It's another Australian series, very witty.

It's very well written, hilarious in parts(especially the episode where they all get a bad dose of the trots) . And if I recall correctly, there are around 5 series to get your teeth into. There is a new series in the offing as well.

We have just watched the second series of Fisk on ITVX. I was as good as the first, though the adverts are annoying and you can't fast forward through them.

I like Australian comedy and drama, maybe because we lived there for a few years.

Kath and Kim was very popular a few years ago. I am planning to rewatch it, though I am not sure how dated it will be now. It is on Netflix. It's a bit daft but it is so funny.

There is also a series on BBC IPlayer called No Activity. It is a comedy and the lead is played by Patrick Brammall who was the co-writer and co-lead in Colin from Accounts. I think it is from around 2015 though.

Thanks BridgetPark - I will definitely watch 5 Bedrooms. Love that there are five series smile

I also enjoyed 800 Words - another comedy drama from a few years ago. I think you can watch it on BBC IPlayer. It's easy watching with lovely scenery. I admit to having a bit of a crush on George.

Here is a synopsis from Wiki

'George Turner is a popular columnist for a top-selling Sydney newspaper, writing a weekly column which he insists must be exactly 800 words. After his wife dies, he buys (over the internet and unseen) a new home in a (fictional) small New Zealand seaside town called Weld, where his parents took him on holiday as a child. He then has to break the news to his two teenage children, Shay and Arlo. But the colourful and inquisitive locals in Weld ensure Turner's dream of a fresh start does not go exactly to plan'

I have just started watching this too and love it. It's 'laugh-out-loud' and as good as Colin From Accounts which I really enjoyed.
