I loved this too, as always Thora Hird was brilliant, her timing is spot on. Pete Postlethwaite was excellent in all his roles, a great actor.

I loved "Lost for Words" - Will look out for" Wide Eyed and Legless" - enjoyed the book "Diana's Story" - was sad to read that Deric Longden had died.

Thanks for the recommendation. Have just watched it and was very moved by it. Great acting, and some great one-liners too. Brilliant!

I found this gem on You Tube today. Having enjoyed Deric Longden’s book many moons ago, I had loved Wide Eyed and Legless with Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent, and Thora Hird as the mother, so I watched this follow up, this time about the mother, again played by Thora, but this time with Pete Postlethwaite as Deric. A splendid watch.
Try them both if you’re looking for something to watch.
