Thanks for the recommendation.

I like some of the stuff in the BBC 4 Saturday night slot, ie the less "Noir" Scandi Noir.

But it used to also have World Cinema, much missed, some really interesting films then. anyone recall, for example, "The Story of the Weeping Camel" - set in Mongolia.

My go to watch tonight I feel. Love foreign film, series, different slant on things. Thank you .

I'll give it a try, there isn't a lot on TV in August, ever. And I can pretend I understand at least some of the French.

I stuck with it but the beginning was so ‘American’ I half expected John Wayne to come galloping in!

It’s very far fetched.

Thanks Nanny. I'll take a look.

Many thanks for that Nanny. We’ll watch it tonight as Saturday tv is dire. Not averse to subtitles.

I watched this a few months ago and enjoyed it.

I would highly recommend this French Netflix series (subtitled) set in 1914 France as German troops advance. The story centres around four women, a business woman, a nurse, a Mother Superior and a prostitute whose lives intertwine during a traumatic time of death and injury and the uncovering of dark secrets in their personal lives.
