I took out a membership as I wanted to watch " Glass Onion " which was supposed to be a sequel to "Knives out "which we loved . We lasted ten minutes and switched it off .

I’m watching Fisk - Australian comedy very funny
Also The Wrong Side of The Tracks - Spanish drama series centring on a grumpy old man who runs a hardware store in a rough area, his teenage granddaughter comes to stay with him after falling out with her mother. She falls for a local boy who is on the edge of a gang, the grandfather tries to keep them apart, there’s drug dealing, crooked police etc involved, I’m half way through and hooked.

Think you are sky. Mores the pity but we may cave and get it ourselves. Really want to see the final Crown series.

Silverlining I believe you can't share Netflix any longer. Think I'm right.

I like good films based on fact.
The Founder. How Mc Donald’s got to be where it is.
The Billion Dollar Code. How Google stole google earth from 2 young German teenagers.
The Laundromat. Tells you ( in a black comedy way) how the mega rich hide their money.

If it is any help, I believe you can get Disney Plus for 1.99 a month for 3 months at the moment. I think the offer ends at the end of September. I can highly recommend Only Murders in the Building and The Bear.

The Serpent is absolutely terrifying but very good.

We were on our dd Netflix account but can’t get it now , assume NF have ‘expelled ‘ us.. Has this happened to anyone else?

Skydancer Thu 14-Sept-23 11:15:51

If it's still on there, The Serpent is brilliant and based on a true story. Also Hidden - very dark, set in Wales. I binge-watched both. Not to be confused with Hidden Assets -this one about fraud - also very good.

I was bummed out that GLOW ended without a real conclusion and there won't be more of it (and I was wrong to postpone watching it for so long...), so I started a documentary series called "Wrestlers", it scratches that itch somewhat lol

The Tinder Swindler is an excellent documentary. I think it won BAFTA and was nominated for 5 Emmys.

Schitt’s Creek is wonderful (Daddima - I just checked, it’s still on Netflix). It’s hilarious and heartwarming and one of a kind.

I enjoyed Greenleaf too, Moonwatcher.

Just binged watched Who is Erin Carter, that was a treat, loved it.
Emily in Paris, so beautiful to watch those clothes and setting.
I see Virgin River new series starts soon, though that was getting a bit dull.
I ended up buying The Good Doctor series on Prime when I ran out of the ones available for viewing.
I'm a big Heartland fan
The Diplomat, looking forward to series 2
I gave up with Schitts creak, didn't hold my attention or find funny.
Hooked on Bosch series, new one out soon.
Hate to admit it but loving Suits, so is everyone I know.

Watched the film ‘Profile’ based on a true story on Netflix tonight and now understand how young girls can fall under the spell of an Isis member.

I’ve enjoyed

Virgin River
Ginny and Georgia
Firefly Lane
The Queen’s Gambit (not sure that’s still available on Netflix)
Grace and Frankie
Painkiller
Manifest
My Sailor My Love (film)
Several Harlan Coben series
Sex Life
Sweet Magnolias

I so agree Mollygo. I'm so wrapped up in this family I can't wait for the next episode. They were very lucky to find such an ideal young actor to play Sheldon. They're all very good though.

Mollygo Mon 28-Aug-23 10:50:33

We love Young Sheldon too, but having got used to binge watching several episodes at a time, it’s been hard only having two per week.

Lovetopaint037 Mon 28-Aug-23 10:45:03

We have become addicted to Young Sheldon. It’s important to watch from episode one, series one. Love it, short rolling on episodes.

Daddima
Ignore that and press Play
I just went to look for something which I know is on Netflix.
I got that info but pressed play and there it was.

I can’t see a ‘play’ to press!

Ah well, it’ll keep till I get home. Thanks anyway.

Emily in Paris was so funny . I loved seeing her in a different outfit in every scene. The Queens Gambit is good and they have some good Korean dramas on there. Watching Who is Erin Carter and enjoying it even though you have to suspend your disbelief frequently.

Presume everyone has seen Better Call Saul?
Haven't found much else lately.

Floradora9 Sun 27-Aug-23 13:40:34

Thanks so much everyone lots of good ideas there .

I stayed up late last night watching Painkiller. It was compulsive viewing. A dreadful story. I only had Oxycontin once after my first knee replacement but refused further doses as I hated how it made me feel. It's hard to believe people choose to feel like that.

Katek Sun 27-Aug-23 11:05:49

Painkiller......compelling and terrifying in equal measure, well worth a watch.
