Where is a news channel?

Sorry I didn't mean to sound insensitive about the local butcher but we would probably know how locals feel about something disastrous or sad.

Caravansera I totally agree with you. It's like that with all the news programmes. It is also annoying and stupid when for example there is a natural disaster like a flood and they go to someone's house and film them then ask "How do you feel when you see this?" Or if someone famous dies and they go to people who live local to ask what they think. Why do reporters have to stand in the middle of a flooded road to tell us about it. Who care's what the local butcher thinks.

The ‘news’ here in Australia is absolutely dreadful in the morning. Silly people sat on settees mouthing off. In the evening it is a bit better, at least you hear about more than pop stars and kids doing marvellous things.

I listen to r4 Today programme every day between 6-9 am.
If I miss the 6 pm
News on tv I watch channel 4 from7-8 pm.
231 is bbc and on for most of the day as well as Sky and aljazera which should be enough for us all.

If someone can find a news channel where one person, dressed in a plain suit, male or female, just reads the news, please let me know.

I am tired of being told the story, then cut to a reporter in the field who tells me exactly the same thing, then cut back to the studio for a group of people around a table or talking heads in front of bookcases on Zoom. All this is accompanied by scrolling and distracting graphics about other breaking news. It must be very difficult for people with serious sensory overload.

I am thankful for radio bulletins and newspapers.

BBC One and BBC News on 231 have the same BBC Breakfast programme until 9:00am, then a Nicky Campbell phone-in until 10:00am.

You could try exploring the apps on your TV to see what's there e.g. Samsung TV Plus has Bloomberg, CNN, EuroNews, Guardian, Reuters.

I don't like the BBC and ITV morning on the sofa formats either. I tend to watch something from BBC News from the previous day. Christian Fraser's The Context is a favourite.

Either that or record your news and watch it later. Our national news is on at 5:30 pm, which is a bit early for me. I record it and watch it after dinner.
