Anyone else watching this? I think the characters are all likeable, and I hear that Roger is a hit with many of the viewers (including me), although I don't think he was ready for a new partner. So far it has been sensitively handled.
I am not ashamed to admit to enjoying this type of show, looking forward to MAFS next week.

I don’t normally watch programmes like this but one of the contestants is quite local and their story was featured in the local newspaper which triggered my interest.

The constant switching from the parents to the kids irritated me at first but I got more used to it as the show went on. It was cringy at times and I think a couple of the contestants already come across as quite shallow. I like Roger, he is good looking and seems down to earth. He did his best to join in but you can see he isn’t ready to find a new love, he looked a little lost at times.

Monique seemed quite happy with Martin H till the new guy with the boat business and place in Ibitha walked in hmm.

I will probably tune in when I get chance but I’m not hooked.

I didn’t realise it was ITV. I don’t know if I can get ITV catchup.

I have also been watching out of curiosity. The sons and daughters seem very mature. I don't like the way new people keep joining, obviously changing the dynamics. I feel it is all too soon for Roger. Of course there is some manipulation going on by the producers I think. I'm interested to see where they all end up.

Why do the women always have their breasts on show?

missdeke Sat 16-Sept-23 16:30:28

I haven't watched it, I don't understand why anyone would want to conduct a romance on tv in front of millions of people. It's all just a bit unnatural.

dogsmother Sat 16-Sept-23 16:30:04

I find it fascinating watching ever evolving humankind.
I’m probably as judgmental as everyone else here but try not to be too harsh. Truth is the males do fall for dressed up blondes in the main and women generally like a tall well presented handsome chap.

Can't watch anything with Davina McColl in it.

What is it with Gransnet that contributors seem unable to write words but prefer to write in code ?
Why write MAFS when you can just write Married at First Sight ? It’s as if people glory in “ being in the know “ and leaving others wondering. Really annoying and unnecessary. No other site that I read does this.

I'm really enjoying this as well. My 50ish sons are staying with me and said "Mum, what a load of rubbish."

There is only one man who would appeal to me and that's not Roger, nor that big head who turned up at the last minute. Oh dear, I sound a bit rude saying that now.

Watch a bit of episode 1 and 2. Not for me, just don't like these programnes eg Love Island (yuck) married at first sight and the other one where they meet in a bar. Wonder how much the participants get paid.

Nandoll Sat 16-Sept-23 13:43:42

I’m enjoying this programme- it reminds me a bit of early Big Brother when it’s interesting seeing how the dynamic of group changes over time especially when new members enter the villa. It’s mindless entertainment in my opinion but just what’s needed after an intense day at work and you just need something entertaining without needing to engage your brain too much 😁I agree they’re all a bit too glam tho !

onedayatatime Sat 16-Sept-23 12:58:12

loving it

nanaK54 Sat 16-Sept-23 12:36:12

I have caught up with it now and I'm enjoying it, I confess I do like some of the reality TV (not all)
Agree with earlier comment about the music

harrysgran Sat 16-Sept-23 12:32:06

Must admit I found. last night's episode cringe worthy seeing them dressed in school uniform something about a woman dressed as a school girl when she's in her 50s uncomfortable and a bit sad

TanaMa Sat 16-Sept-23 12:21:19

Wouldn't watch it anway, but as soon as I saw Davina McCall was hosting it, it certainly stopped any possibility!!

LizzieDrip Sat 16-Sept-23 11:41:33

Absolute tosh!

This maddyone👏👏👏

Cossy Sat 16-Sept-23 11:34:10

I will be honest, just not my thing, don’t mind Davina, but the only dating show I’ve watched and actually enjoyed us Blind Date with Cilla 😂😂😂😂 This does seem a bit like Love Island for older people and the ads for it make me cringe ! Hope they find love and happiness though, as I’m not completely heartless

Desdemona Sat 16-Sept-23 11:31:28

I despise reality tv. My adult daughter is hooked however and is determined to fill me in on details and get me to watch.

HeavenLeigh Sat 16-Sept-23 11:28:24

The not my ladies 🤣

HeavenLeigh Sat 16-Sept-23 11:27:17

I love it ! There are a couple of my ladies I’m not a fan of and one man in particular that is very cringey, roger is lovely but I don’t think he’s ready for this, All the adult children are very polished and come across very well. The mums are very polished too my favourite being Caroline very down to earth

maddyone

I watched ten minutes and turned it off. I’ve never seen such a lot of drivel in my life. Middle aged people done up like twenty somethings with those horrendous thick lips, exaggerated hair dos, dresses suitable for an eighteen year old, and all desperate to find a man. The men not so much, but some still unbelievably arrogant.
Absolute tosh!

My sentiments exactly.......I wouldn't give it 'air time' nor waste electricity watching it. Cannot stand these reality TV shows.

I am a sucker for these programmes, currently watching Love Island USA on ITVbe and Celebs Go Dating (my least favourite). MAFS UK then AUS coming soon, then Big Brother.

Bea65 Sat 16-Sept-23 08:44:17

Yes all the participants seem to have aged well- without a pot belly between them.. good luck to all of them!

MayBee70 Sat 16-Sept-23 08:08:56

I don’t usually watch programmes like this ( although I must admit to watching First Dates if I come upon it whilst channel hopping) but I’m going to give it a go as Hayley Campbell, who also doesn’t like programmes like this, said on the Must Watch podcast that it is a must watch, and I always follow Hayley’s advice.
