Haven’t seen it as yet will make my mind up soon. Love pour it and did enjoy the last pour it film Branagh was in.

What a pity as I love Venice and have visited many times. It is very atmospheric in winter - but chilly!

I'm getting adverts for it on Disney. Don't know if that would be in the UK too.

So unlike the real Poirot novels, very disappointing. Too many piecing screams, loud crashes, spooky images, it reminded me of a 1960s Hammer horror film.

We saw this in the Everyman cinema last Friday. We loved it!
Silly and a bit scary in places but hugely atmospheric and enjoyable. The espresso martini might have helped but the surround sound was amazing.

We say it last week, enjoyed it, although I did guess the plot pretty quickly 😄

Not a fan of the last two Poirot films by Branagh so I'll probably avoid

I thought it was deadly dull, very disappointing and very silly.

OK, I’m nitpicking here, but Ariadne isn’t just played by an American - in the film she is American.

I dare say dh and I are over-picky, and it was my fault for not having properly read about it in advance, so I hope I haven’t put off anyone else who might well enjoy it.

Thanks for the prompt replies.

I'm surprised there are people in the UK that haven't heard of it. I've been bombarded with adverts for it on the internet. I have seen excerpts and I know Ariadne is played by an American but this won't be discernible in the German version. I always listen to Mark Kermode and he enjoyed it,( but he's getting a bit too bolshy these days and I don't enjoy listening as much as I did 10 years ago.)

We went to the first two in the series (imagine Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders speaking German! They were in Death on the Nile) so we shall be doing this to complete the trilogy

We saw this the other night. I hadn’t read anything about it, except an ad on the side of a bus! - and TBH was expecting something on the lines of that Daphne du Maurier adaptation, set in Venice.

How wrong can you be? It was extremely loosely based on an Agatha Christie novel, so there was Kenneth Branagh playing Poirot, with an American actress playing the should-be very British Christie character, Ariadne Oliver! Sacrilege!

There was a lot of spooky stuff going on in a very spooky old palazzo, but TBH it would be more suited to young teens at Halloween. To put it bluntly, we both found it daft and disappointing.

I hope to see it this week. My eldest gd went with her dad and they said it was great. Scary at times though.

Venice is one of my favourite places. I haven't heard of this film but will look out for it.

Has anyone seen this? It came out here in Germany this week and we're going to see it tonight. Unfortunately I will have to watch it in the dubbed German version, but I expect it will be visually rich and high quality.
