The Viking cruises are my pet hate. That woman has Received Pronunciation that is so far back it’s up her bottom. Sorry- she really does annoy me

I find that ad annoying as well but I think the woman is supposed to be Danish , hence Viking cruises

I agree, the Curry's ones are cringeworthy.
The ones for a raffle to win a house, the woman's droning voice is awful.

And "Darling hold my hand!" JET2 holidays, immediately makes me reach for the mute button.
Then, blissful silence until the programme recommences.

I so agree with you chardy, we need the organising, planning and contact with others to help us through those first dreadful days. It's part of the grieving process. We lost a close family member to Covid in the early days of the pandemic and her funeral was simply dreadful. It was video streamed and only had 3 in the congregation - even her parents couldn't attend. It hardly bears thinking about although nearly 4 years have passed.

Witzend there’s an ad on Classic FM that I really loathe. It’s the one for Vodaphone. Would anyone want to buy a piece of tech plugged by a woman who sounds like a real air-headed bimbo?!

Grannynannywanny Wed 01-Nov-23 10:19:30

That’s it all underway. Clear up the pumpkin remnants and get the tinsel out 🙄 The Christmas ads are underway. I saw the M&S one earlier. No idea what it was about. I suppose we’ll have Noddy Holder any day now bellowing “It’s Christmas ! I feel sorry for shop staff having to listen to it all every day for so long before Christmas. I know I sound like the Grinch but I do love Christmas. Just not in early November.

Oh yea, Sausage. Never worked out yet what it's advertising.

That one with a big bell in it, is it some investment company?

The Domino-ho-ho one has improved. It's the kind of catchy soundbite that would catch on but when it first came out the images were of young people calling to each other while old and somehow subliminally lonely people were being left out.

Witzend Wed 01-Nov-23 10:05:04

Most of them TBH, and the oft-repeated radio ones are almost worse - at least you can record TV progs and scroll through them.
I often have Classic FM on and I’m afraid I frequently shout expletives at the radio (while hitting the ‘off’ button) when a particularly irritating ad is playing for the umpteenth time.

That particular Tena ad almost has me shouting at the tv- it's dreadful. My pet hate atm is for Pure Cremations (or similar) where mum tells son that's what she wants and that she's looked at the reviews. Who wrote the reviews - the client? grin

When the mother says (about not having a funeral) that no-one likes funerals. Didn't lockdown show that they're an important part of the grieving process, and that there's a need to get together, share, reminisce and perhaps cry?
But what's mental health compared to someone making a profit?

vampirequeen Wed 01-Nov-23 09:22:32

The one where the man runs around shouting Sausage.

tanith Wed 01-Nov-23 09:11:59

All of them I turn the sound off if they come on.

vampirequeen Wed 01-Nov-23 09:11:31

Tena...the woman letting all out and the one sat on the toilet.

I can't remember the brand but it's for a sanitary towel and you see blood dripping into a shower tray.

Lindt Christmas ad. I hate all Christmas adds that show the perfect family Christmas.

I like the Morrisons one!

Just seen a few Christmas adverts. M&S is just awful. Very disappointing.

I really.dislike the Mark Jacobs advert. Perfect, perfect, perfect. It's anything but perfect

Auntieflo Wed 01-Nov-23 08:57:47

Paddy Power, seems a bit suggestive?
Saw it for the first time last night.

The McDonald's one with everyone raising their eyebrows - very annoying.

Calendargirl Thu 12-Oct-23 12:46:40

The latest Morrison one where some moronic guy is with his wife and talking about the benefits of the Morrison’s card or something, he waffles on about free pizzas and just comes across as such an idiot.

HowVeryDareYou2 Thu 12-Oct-23 12:29:39

What adverts on tv do you find annoying? I've got a few, and they make me determined never to buy/use the thing they're advertising -

Curry's - the one in which the staff members eat the instruction manuals
Curry's again - the staff all have beards (which move and point to things)
KFC - people shaking hands over the KFC meals
