For anyone who was a fan, the first 200 episodes are on YouTube.

Thank you, nadateturbe

I used to watch with a very young DS when I'd fetched him from morning nursery 😁
As well as Bod and Mr Ben!

Thank you for that. I was a really big fan at the time. I’ve never watched any other ‘soaps’. There was just something special and different about it, and the background of the war provided another dimension, a bit sad and heartbreaking at times.
I shall enjoy catching up with the Sullivan family again, it will give me something to watch in the winter evenings.

Thanks, I will definitely give that a go. The only bit I've seen was Kylie Minogue in her first acting role! I love any Aussie dramas, currently watching All Saints (hospital) and Blue Heelers (Police) both 1990s and on Freevee. And don't forget A Place to Call Home the best of all!

Callistemon same here! While son had his nap.🙂
Not sure what we will think of it now but will give it a go.

He used to enjoy it, he must have been about three!

I watched quite a lot of episodes when we were in Australia then recorded them when we came home (we were behind in the UK) but then the box went wrong and I lost everything.

Are they on TV now Chestnut?

Thanks for that. I rushed home at lunchtime to watch it. Watched it right to the last episode.

I didn't realise they showed all the Sullivans episodes here. I bought the last few series recently. I had never seen them before.

I just googled 'a place to call home' and it seems to be free on Amazon Prime, not sure about others, I think you have to pay.

The best deal I've seen is a DVD box set of the entire series 1-6 on E-Bay for £10 plus £4.99 postage. There are 67 episodes so it's a bargain!

There's another box set on E-Bay for £24.64 free postage. The DVD box set is more expensive on Amazon. I refuse to have Amazon Prime.

Loved this show back in the day and just finished watching the first 475 episodes again, that is all i have managed to get! Apart from paying Crawfords an extortinate amount of money for DVD sets, does anyone know where any more episodes can be downloaded?

Yes, I remember that from years ago. My family emigrated to Australia so it was of particular interest to me.
Must look it up.

Ooh, thank you for bringing back fond memories of watching this with my mother by the old gas fire. I also loved the Waltons too.

The Sullivans was the first Australian soap to be shown over here. Well actually, it was closer to a wartime dtama than a soap, being set in the 1940s, and was a similar concept to A Family At War. Quite a good show and unique when it came out, as the only Aussie show people thought of in the seventies was Skippy.
