A thousand posts! How time flies grin

Post your moans, praise and observations about life on the cobbles on this shiny new thread.

BlueBelle I now agree. The silly fanboy stuff has gone too far now.

Tracey and Tommy made me laugh - good to have a bit more of a light hearted storyline.

Sarah really is smitten with Damon isn’t he? He totally adores her and plays the part very well.

The actor who plays Steve seems to have put quite a bit of weight on and he and Tim need to dial down the gushing over Tommy O. Simon is following in his father's footsteps, sadly. Has Bethany got a hidden agenda with her unexpected return to Weatherfield? I hope Daniel doesn't get hurt again.

Doodledog Tue 06-Feb-24 17:42:42

Steve looked much older last night, I thought.

I don't know what Bethany's up to, but I think Daniel is going to be hurt, yes. Poor lad doesn't have much luck, does he?

I thought the Tracey and Tommy flirting was spot on.

No wonder Tracey fancied a bit of a dalliance. Tommy is definitely easier on the eye than poor old Steve, with his silly facial expressions and gurning all the time.

Clawdy Wed 07-Feb-24 19:26:37

Can't really imagine anybody fancying Steve these days. And Steve, Tim and Kirk are just like silly comedy characters now.

The actors must cringe at times when they read the scripts. There are some good actors, and to be involved in the daftest and most unbelievable story lines, and for so many weeks, must frustrate them.

It's a living!

Football last night cancelled Corrie. I assume that episode will be shown on Fri night. Anybody know for sure?

It is and there will be an episode on Sunday

Doodledog Thu 08-Feb-24 17:04:19

There is no extra episode tonight or on Friday. I think football just reduces the number of episodes we get, which is most unfair.

Doodledog Thu 08-Feb-24 17:05:08

Oh, sorry - I didn't know there was another one on Sunday. Excellent! I withdraw my moan grin

Messing me around blooming footie 🙄

It drives me mad.

Charleygirl5 Thu 08-Feb-24 18:47:16

It is happening too frequently.

I wonder if we have too much Corrie. The increased number of episodes over the years have meant the introduction of some ridiculous storylines that drag on for ever. The scriptwriters must be racking their brains for new plots and come up with some rubbish at times, just to fill the schedule. Perhaps Corrie twice a week might raise the bar again to how Corrie was years ago.

Doodledog Fri 09-Feb-24 10:10:00

I know I keep saying it, but they should change the actors' contracts so they can all be in most of the episodes. To me, that's what's killing it - every story just has two or three people in it, and the others don't get a few lines like they used to. It used to have a real community feel to it, but now it's either the Billy and Paul story or Tracey and Steve or whatever. There are a couple of separate stores an episode, but not the layering that there used to be. It started in Covid when they could only have a few people on set, but I think it worked out cheaper that way and they continued.

I must have missed a key episode. Why has the solicitors office decamped to DeeDee's flat?

lemsip Fri 09-Feb-24 20:13:21

everyone is eating out all the time, never see anyone dishing up a meal at home do we.

damon and sarah are more suited in height than sarah and adam. sarah is only 5ft and a 1/2inch

BlueBelle Fri 09-Feb-24 20:14:04

Adams hair is on its travels again

Yes, it has, hasn’t it? Can remember Dee Dee offering the use of it, but can’t remember why.

It didn’t get flooded did it?

🤷‍♀️

Calendargirl Fri 09-Feb-24 20:21:49

But the other day Ed was sleeping on the office sofa wasn’t he, the one the clients then sat on?

Calendargirl Fri 09-Feb-24 20:23:36

Oh, that awful Bobby is on again. He can’t act, and he has a boring monotone voice.
