Calendargirl Mon 15-Jan-24 20:46:30

Why on earth would Sarah be so keen for Damon to share a cosy happy families meal with her oh-so-not lot?

It’s a wonder Damon didn’t run a mile.

It must be lurve!

❤️❤️❤️❤️

lemsip

damon seems to have darkened his hair, doesn't suit him.

and where ever did the idea of a crook stealing and crushing his car and returning it come from? has this ever happened in real life!

I’ll give you that lemsip as I noticed straight away too.

Calendargirl Sat 13-Jan-24 12:25:41

But lemsip, how on earth are we law abiding grannies meant to know what happens between crooks?

Probably stealing and crushing cars is commonplace?

shock

Nina and Aadi or Amy and Aadi? Thank he needs someone nicer than either!

Good points Doodledog.
Re Damon: I don't understand why people think he's so gorgeous. He's a little bullet headed runt if a man. Not like my lovely Dev! grin

Primrose53 Sat 13-Jan-24 09:14:09

Oooh, when Damon just held Sarah’s hands and kissed them!!!❤️ how tender was that for a tough guy? He is irresistible.

Doodledog Sat 13-Jan-24 09:13:37

I wish they would go back to having more storylines going on at once, instead of the small cast in each episode that happens now. I think that is why the old episodes are better. These days it's either Paul and Billy or Nina and Asha, whilst in the last episode of Classic Corrie I saw there was a factory fire, Claire and Ashley's romance, Fred pining after a woman who has her sights on Mike, Liz reminiscing about her lost baby, Tracy planning Amy's christening, Nick losing his job, Gail meddling in her family's business and more. They had a full cast in most episodes, even if they had no functional role in the action. Rita came out with cups of tea after the fire, Les was concerned for Janice and so on. Now the actors are either important to the storyline or not in the episode, and it detracts from the community feel of the show.

BlueBelle Sat 13-Jan-24 08:06:40

I think you ve hit it on the head calandergirl Damon has a vulnerability about him that is totally alien to the tough man character and tugs at women’s heartstrings
I really can’t stand Cassie I so wish she d disappear and the Aardi /Nina story is silly I ve really gone off Nina she looked better before she lost weight and just seems to mooch around rolling her eyes She was so much nicer when she was with Abi s lad

The reason the scripts are not what they were is because the current writers are so keen to bring in anything remotely ‘topical’ hence a plethora of depressing but ‘worthy’ storylines.

Just not much fun for the viewers.

And many new, younger actors/actresses. Not saying some of them aren’t good, but sometimes it feels it is at the expense of characters known and loved, though of course they are all much older and either retired or died.

I'm very grateful for this thread for keeping me up to date! I've been a lifelong Corrie fan however in the past months I rarely watch it consistently. Its such a shame but I just don't find any story lines that are must watch or many characters I care about. I do however watch classic corrie on itv 3. My daughter watched an episode last week with me and was gripped by it and wanted to know what happened. So sad when see how good it was.

Calendargirl Sat 13-Jan-24 07:11:34

The Asha/Aadi/Nina storyline is another one becoming tedious.

Nina used to be such a good actress, now the lines she’s given just mean she drifts about and drawls while rolling her eyes.

Hope Damon decides hopping into bed with Sarah is worth hanging around Weatherfield for.

Calendargirl Wed 10-Jan-24 20:44:42

The puppy farm business is tedious.

Not the illegal puppy breeding, that’s awful, but the stupid way Evelyn and Cassie are dealing with it.

Ridiculous goings on, Evelyn filming and Cassie breaking in.

As for Evelyn telling Kev and Abi to move off their seating, then Cassie just clearing off from work for the day…..

Just sack her please.

So pleased Damon is back. ❤️

Don’t know what it is about Damon. He’s not good looking really, a bit like a little terrier snapping at people’s heels. But there’s just something about him.

He has a real ‘come to bed’ look, and also a vulnerability somehow.

Hope they keep him in and get rid of the ghastly Cassie and her fake teeth and smile.

Pretty good summing up Calendargirl. 👏👏

CoolCoco

If Ed has gambled away Damon’s cash then I dread to think what Damon’s reaction will be ( maybe another murder on the street?)

But he hasn’t has he?

The money was safe in the cash box.

Gormless Ed resisted, thank goodness.

sodapop Wed 10-Jan-24 13:13:36

Think Damon got to Ed before he gambled the money.

NotTooOld Wed 10-Jan-24 12:57:13

Yes, I like Damon. I think it's his smile and he also seems very caring - for a crook.
