A thousand posts! How time flies grin

Post your moans, praise and observations about life on the cobbles on this shiny new thread.

I am so fed up of the Bailey family. Ed’s constantly in trouble over money and gambling, and the grandad is awful. Totally boring family and story lines. The only one who is worth watching is Glory and she’s hardly ever there. They must put her in the cupboard, or else she lives at nursery.

Jenny said she would say she acquired a mortgage to enable her to buy the Rovers Return. A tad unlikely as she is unemployed.

daisy's just gone in the bistro and bought a bottle of champagne!

and maria is talking of beauty treatments at audrey's salon
. ..... fillers and thread lifts on face. so I wonder who'll be trying those.

Clawdy Wed 20-Dec-23 08:29:52

Why on earth would Audrey take a battered old diary to the charity shop?

NotTooOld Mon 18-Dec-23 22:11:46

Daisy pinched the keys from a jacket while the Platts were having their love-in at the Bistro. I think it was David's jacket.

The love-in was totally pathetic, I thought. OH says it was a fill in filmed earlier so the actors could have time off to go Christmas shopping.

Peter Barlow and Tim Whatsit have some horrendous tattoos. I can't see either of them indulging in all that counselling stuff either. Perhaps Toyah should have been in the hot tub with them.

Calendargirl Mon 18-Dec-23 20:59:45

When did Tim grow a beard?

CoolCoco Mon 18-Dec-23 20:49:18

As for the hot tub….

BlueBelle Mon 18-Dec-23 20:41:25

Sorry but the scene with Audrey and family saying nice things about each other was🤮🤮🤮
Tim s got a blooming big tattoo

Calendargirl Mon 18-Dec-23 20:31:08

Where did Daisy get the keys from, I missed that?

I see Reece Dinsdale is directing some episodes of Corrie.

He played one of Gail’s deceased husbands, Joe McIntyre.

Crikey, £6.95 for the poshest chocolates in the Kabin!

Don’t think that would hardly buy Dairy Box/Milk Tray round here!

Ha ha just what I said to OH!! 🤣

I think Adam tends to look like he’s rolled out of bed and turned up on set without looking in the mirror. Whatever happened to Mary’s motor home? I suspect it’s parked round the corner and Adam sleeps in it between scenes 😆

Calendargirl Sat 16-Dec-23 07:17:16

Adam’s hair looks more normal

Whatever normal is for Adam.

Still looks weird. Either plastered greasily to his head, sticking up, proper ‘bedroom’ hair, or looking like he’s been plugged into the electrical socket.

maddyone Fri 15-Dec-23 23:08:49

Sorry, Hotel Chocolats.

maddyone Fri 15-Dec-23 23:07:44

I thought that too Calendargirl. I thought ‘crikey, that wouldn’t buy me my favourite Hotel Chocolates.’

He was Liam as well, hence the son having the same name. Went on to be Mr Barrow in Downton Abbey.

Yes, David is worth his weight in gold, a rose amongst thorns in the acting ability of so many of the cast.

NotTooOld Thu 14-Dec-23 19:05:02

Liam is Maria's son who is being bullied at the moment. Her husband before Gary was a Connor. Can't remember his name but he was good looking.

I thought David did a good impression of Canadian Stephen last night.

Linda was a machinist in Mike's knicker factory - the precursor to Underworld.

She used to make laugh when she rolled her own cigs. 🤣

Mike Baldwin and one of many women 🤣

Clawdy Thu 14-Dec-23 17:38:31

Who were Mike and Linda?

Doodledog Thu 14-Dec-23 10:50:11

Soaps never seem to recognise that the UK is a class-bound society, and sacrifice realism to keeping to the salary budget.

Ken and Deirdre, Daniel and everyone, Mike and Linda, Sean and the dentist, Kat Slater and Doctor Truman in Eastenders, the list goes on. Yes, of course in 'real life' there are couples from different backgrounds who have successful relationships, but they have to have something in common to make it work.

In Soapland it seems as though everyone just settles for staying within the pool of very local people of roughly the same age, regardless of the fact that they are very different people.

Grannynannywanny Thu 14-Dec-23 09:07:03

I’ve never taken to Daisy’s character. All that nonsense with her “socials” and mooching online for freebies for the wedding drove me to distraction.

I think Daniel and Daisy are the most mismatched couple in the history of Corrie. They were never right together.

Same as him and Sinead! Daniel was always on about books, theatre, writers and poor old Sinead could barely string a sensible sentence together.
