Daniel has 'lost the plot' before, I think. Did he smash up his mother's house once?

vegansrock Thu 14-Dec-23 07:41:21

Daniel showing his aggressive side - hopefully he can see Daisy is rather shallow. I think he’l together with Bethany again( I read she and Damon are coming back) should stir it up a bit.

BlueBelle Thu 14-Dec-23 07:28:15

Pretty sure Eliza’s dad will be using the money to take Eliza away ‘on an adventure’ of some sort never to be seen again

David’s hair has taken over from Ryan’s scar and has a total life of its own at last Adams hair looks more normal

Calendargirl Thu 14-Dec-23 07:22:13

Being picky.

How on earth did Daniel think he and Daisy would suddenly turn the Rovers into a profit making venture, seeing as Jenny and the brewery had failed? I suppose if he were still teaching, they would have a regular salary though. And Ken delighted at the idea! I would have been horrified at the thought of him chucking away his inheritance.

Fed up with all this. Wish Daisy would make up her silly little mind about her love life.

And the stolen dog story, equally annoying.

At least we are having a break from the Mason/Dylan/Liam bullying triangle, and Ed’s gambling woes, plus the old grandad wanting the loan.

David and Shona have the best lines and relationship, they save the programme.

Good thinking. I can't see this storyline ending well.

I’m wondering if Stu and Yasmeen will turn up for the concert and when the curtains open there will be no Eliza. Just like that scene from the Sound of Music.

She’ll be on her way to the airport with her dad on a one way ticket to Germany. Stu can kiss goodbye to his granddaughter and his £10k.

an intense corrie episode tonight for a change. daisy and daniel sorting out her sleeping with ryan.

tyron, evelyn very good .

The Scottish businessman was another murderer wasn’t he? Bodies hidden at the factory in a trunk or similar. It was a good gripping storyline though, unlike now.

I assume her council work is unpaid, at least it is in our town if you’re ’on the council’.

Aveline Tue 12-Dec-23 19:34:27

I remember all that. Maria still works in Audrey's salon as co manager of course as well as being a local councillor. Busy lady

BlueBelle Tue 12-Dec-23 16:43:03

I must have missed some years out of Corrie I don’t remember Maria’s husband or any of that drama

LovesBach Tue 12-Dec-23 16:35:56

I'm so glad that a combintion of memories from GN posters clears up these amazingly complex tales. I have thought that Maria should be an awful lot better off that she seems to be, although Gary appears to be able to provide a decent lifestyle selling odds and ends and old sofas (remarkable) Before Garry she lived in a rented, shared flat, but was she not married to Liam, who part owned the factory with Carla? When he was killed in a car accident, she would surely have benefitted from his estate, and she was then involved with the Scottish businessman, who I think had also been involved with Carla. He died too (what a singularly unlucky woman she has been) and he left her his esatae. Where has all the money gone?

Aveline Tue 12-Dec-23 15:03:46

It was after that Doodledog and meant the house could be saved from Ray's dastardly plot. Also she could afford to fill in the sink hole in the garden.

Gail bought the house with her inheritance from her previously invisible dad.

Oh yes, the never-heard-of-and-unseen-dad, who turned out to be gay, came into Gail’s life, then sadly passed away and hardly warranted another mention.

Was that before or after Nigel Havers swindled her out of it and gave it to Audrey, who passed it to David by way of revenge?

Their family affairs are 'complicated', to say the least grin

Grannynannywanny Tue 12-Dec-23 13:31:39

That’s right Clawdy. I forgot it was Carla he swindled not Jenny !

Clawdy Tue 12-Dec-23 12:50:46

Wasn't Stephen's money really Carla's from the factory?

I've just realised that autocorrect changed 'stretched' to 'stressed', which changes the meaning of what I wrote 😡.

Anyway, the Platt/Roberts money has been passed around by fair means or foul, from Audrey to Nick and David. Gail lost her house to her mother who gave it to David. Has Sarah had a turn yet? Or will it skip a generation and go to Max? Or will it turn out that Audrey no longer owns Grasmere Drive, and will have to bunk in with the already overcrowded Platts?

Grannynannywanny Tue 12-Dec-23 08:37:30

I agree about the missing money. As soon as Steven’s laptop, phone and notebook were returned to Audrey I thought these items will surely come up with evidence . PC Plod mentioned a couple of times how overstretched they are at work.

I’m thoroughly bored with the Daniel/Daisy/Ryan story. I hope Daisy leaves for Glasgow with Ryan. I’m expecting Jenny to buy back the pub once Audrey finds a password in the notebook to lead to hidden files in the laptop which will lead to the cash. . Gormless Craig’s mouth will drop open even wider when he realises they’ve solved the mystery of the missing money. 👮‍♀️ 🚔

Doodledog Tue 12-Dec-23 08:12:40

Maybe not if they are too stressed to investigate the kidnap/taking hostage of Evelyn and the assault of Tyrone.

I think the missing money will be found and somehow redirected to a new recipient? The Platt/Roberts money changes hands on a regular basis.

Clawdy Tue 12-Dec-23 08:07:00

Obviously Jenny is going to discover something crucial on that laptop. But surely the police would have analysed it closely.

Doodledog Sat 09-Dec-23 15:18:08

There are too many stories, I think that's why. As each episode features just a few actors now, instead of most of them being in all the episodes, the stories drag on. I much preferred the old way of doing it.

maddyone Sat 09-Dec-23 11:34:23

I’m another who is bored with the Daniel, Daisy, Ryan story. The writers never seem to know when to let a story go. They keep stories going for too long.

Doodledog Sat 09-Dec-23 11:22:03

Story , not sort!

Doodledog Sat 09-Dec-23 11:21:46

I wonder if Evelyn is going to campaign against cruelty to animals? Viewers would like that, I think.

Agreed about the stories with the younger characters not being good just now. And with the Stu/granddaughter one. His character is floundering which is a shame. He has had some awful storylines and scripts, plus he has Yasmeen’s acting to contend with.

How realistic is the Gemma sort? Would a SW really expect her to find ways of not being alone with any of five children? Chesney has to work, Bernie is in jail, Paul can’t supervise toddlers - how is that meant to pan out?
