We may be getting near a solution in the Lauren storyline. Bethany is convinced she saw her groomer, Nathan, watching the reconstruction of Lauren's last movements. Daniel is trying to convince her that Nathan is still in prison and she was imagining it. A quick call to Craig should put the record straight.

Controversial statement to make, but I can see Coronation St ending in the next 20 years. Only 4 million people watch it now and hardly anyone I know under 50 watches it. Obviously the soap still has a following, but I can see the day when it gets cancelled.

20 years is a long time grin

T hey’ll make a lot of money advertising to the ‘grey pound’ - many older people have more disposable income than their children - and they also show the ‘classic’ version which costs nothing to make and gets the market for funeral plans, charity donations and mobility aids. Younger people don’t watch a lot of tv anyway.

Very few programmes have huge audiences nowadays as there’s so much choice that the audiences are split. They are cutting back on actors’ salaries by charging the composition of the stories which also saves money. I think it’s false economy though, as it loses the community feel that used to define it.

Nothing lasts forever, but I’m not concerned about it going yet.

Yes, I thought that - specially as he’d been driving.

Did Maria not wonder why Gary smelt of booze when he had been so busy manoeuvring a wardrobe upstairs and missed her frantic phone calls?

My first reaction when he appeared would have been “Have you been in the pub?!!!”

Alya has wonderful hair - but honestly! Not a hair has moved out of place or changed in any way since she first appeared on the programme.

For me this Lauren thing is dragging on. I do get bored easily.

Aveline Tue 07-May-24 06:39:58

Yes. She's always filmed with something partially blocking her or carrying a cushion or pile of documents.

maddyone Mon 06-May-24 23:34:33

Is she (in real life) pregnant? Is that why she’s going to disappear for six months?

Doodledog Mon 06-May-24 22:28:36

Not since she arrived on the cobbles grin

Beechnut Mon 06-May-24 20:08:33

Adam has asked Alya if she’s done something different to her hair 🤣🤣🤣

Think we saw Emily, or heard her voice, (from Edinburgh) when it was a milestone birthday for Ken, I think it was him, or maybe Rita or Audrey, a veteran cast member anyhow.

maddyone

Thanks Doodle, I didn’t know that.

Nor did I until I googled grin. I assume that Spider must have mentioned it when he paid his last visit. The character must be getting on a bit now though.

Aveline Tue 30-Apr-24 08:38:20

Nooooo! Roy must be saved.

Sarnia Tue 30-Apr-24 08:34:54

Clawdy

At least they didn't do a storyline where Roy was harassed and beaten up in jail. Or met Harvey!

Give them time!!!
