Audible

I like Audible, only one book a month whereas kindle unlimited is several books a month( same price.
but have to search for books with whispersinc (sp?) Which is audiobook.
You can choose between reading or listening..

Whatever you choose don't pay full price.
Should be able to find half price at least if you Google.
Also when deal finishes end it , tick box for too expensive and they will offer a better deal.
Library also does Audio books for free

I don't know whether you have to have an Amazon account, but I think not, as I've seen mention of Audible elsewhere than on Amazon.
I have it on my account. For your subscription, you get one credit a month for a free book (your choice from all on their list), and in addition you can buy any others you want from their list. You get to keep all of them, so you can go back and listen to them again. In the description, it says how long the recording is, so choosing a long one is worthwhile in terms of time for your money! If you want to start with a good long story, get "Shrines of Gaiety" by Kate Atkinson (16 hours and 13 minutes)

I find Audible very good, though I must say some narrators are better than others. There is a setting to turn it off after a choice of delays, so if you go to sleep while listening, it won't keep going to the last page while you snore.

I’ve got anAmazon account ( I hate using them but seem to be depending on them more and more ) but it isn’t Prime. There are several podcasts that I started listening to eg My Teenage Diary that I could then only access via audible. I’m currently loving Natural Histories on bbc sounds.

Why not sign on to Borrowbox via your library?
It's free and you have 10 audiobooks at a time.

I love my 1 book a month Audible. One member of the family has 3 credits a month (£15?). There's plenty of free books and podcasts too.

MayBee You don't need Prime to have audible from Amazon.

Yes, from the library. We are allowed 5. You can also have access to magazines and newspapers via another site used by our libraries. Lots of online reference stuff is also available.

Another BorrowBox fan here too. I also listen to bbc sounds lots of books to choose from once you manage to negotiate your way around the app!

I find the app quite straightforward - but I'm comparing yo ULibby!

Not everything is on it of course.
Some area libraries allow 15 books/audiobooks, some 10 etc.
