Nigel Farage on I'm a Celeb etc (sorry forgotten the name of the show)
I've never watched it before, and I dont know any of the other contestants, but could be fun.
No doubt he will be given the most gruesome challenges.🤣

I find it ridiculous that some posters assume all who voted remain are far left supporters. It’s the same as saying all Brexit supporters are far right.

Anyway, with regard to the programme and the question, no I won’t be watching it - I never have and don’t intend starting now. I’ve seen trailers for the programme over the years and they were more than enough for me.

I’m no fan of Mr Farage. Never have been and never will be.

My goodness the hyperbole on here, although I take many of the comments literally. I watch Celebrity Get Me Out of Here every series because I like to see how humans behave in such conditions and surroundings. I learn a lot about people. Nigel Farage might be not everyone’s cup of tea, but I am fascinated by the sheer nastiness of the far left members on GRANSNET. I would not enjoy their company although I rather like WWM.
For those lofty members here with closed minds, Farage has demonstrated common sense on the programme and carried out successfully two of the worst tasks so far without complaint. I must confess I know only a couple of the other contestants and they are Fred Serieux and Grace Dent. Why anyone would dislike Ms Dent is a mystery to me. I am sure avid Remainers are wishing bad things to happen to Nigel Farage., Their posts show just how mean minded the left can be. I could never wish for evil things to happen to any left wing politician. I guess I am not mean enough.

I'm an "avid Remainer" and no I'm not wishing bad things to happen to him.

And I also think the "world's most hated man" is offensive - even tho' I don't like him. A lot. And said so in an earlier post.

... and I'm not far left - or even left.

In fact, whilst we're on the subject, I don't hate or wish harm on any politician that I dislike because of what they stand for.

Hate is not the root of all evil - but it is the root of many evils.

I’m not a fan of Nigel Farage nor of I’m a Celebrity GMOOH and swore I wasn’t going to watch, however curiosity/temptation got the better of me.
So far I have disliked the screamy girl and then warmed to her after her brave dinner with Nigel. I have thought the young man from one of the reality shows a bit OTT but can’t dislike him. The young girl pleasant but nondescript.
Grace and Josie seem nice enough. They are all lucky to have Fred, top class chef.
I think that Nigel has conducted himself well as I would expect.
I’m hoping for some interesting conversations and a better understanding of all the contestants but especially Nigel Farage.
Judgement currently on hold.

Can’t stand him. What was ITV thinking?

Their viewing figures? I've never watched it, and don't intend to start. Hate is far to strong a word for someone who's politics you disagree with. If NF is laughing all the way to his new bank after his appearance, good luck to him.

Watch it every year and love it. Something exciting to watch on the cold dark nights. I like Nigel Farage far worse figures to hate on than Nigel.

lilydily9 Tue 21-Nov-23 14:03:39

Nigel is coming across well. Yes, he was picked for the first trial, as expected, but not the second which surprised even him.

hugshelp Tue 21-Nov-23 14:00:41

Not for me, thanks.

Galaxy62 Tue 21-Nov-23 13:49:46

Nothing wrong with Nigel

Fae1 Tue 21-Nov-23 13:48:15

No, never have watched it in the past ; when I knew who the 'celebrities' were. Never heard of any of this lot apart from Farage And I can't think of one reason why I should watch him cavorting about in the 'jungle'.

maddyone Tue 21-Nov-23 13:45:37

There are contestants in the jungle every year who can’t participate in certain trials because of their health conditions, which prevent participation. ITV/doctors will make these decisions based on medical history which must be disclosed by the participants. It’s nothing new and certainly not peculiar to Nigel Farage.

If posters wish to boycott the show it’s up to them. I don’t suppose Farage will care a fig if Gransnetters boycott the show, or anyone else for that matter.

Each to their own. I’m watching.

Very well said, Annie1

NF is using this show to ingratiate himself with those of the audience gullible enough or forgetful enough to try to relaunch his failed career. In addition his overpayment and excuses not to participate for ā€œmedical reasonsā€ must hack off the others - I can see this becoming the NF show with the rest overshadowed. Shame on those platforming, sponsoring and advertisers. I am boycotting it.

One thing he said was he wanted to bring back smoking in pubs and ease gun control. All those fawning over everything he says should remember some of his less salubrious pronouncements.

Twig14 Tue 21-Nov-23 13:17:24

Well said Fairy cakes totally agree with you

Twig14 Tue 21-Nov-23 13:16:16

I like Nigel Farage

Juniper1 Tue 21-Nov-23 12:57:16

He is a dangerous racist who should not be given this air time. He is certainly not a celebrity

Fairycakes Tue 21-Nov-23 12:54:48

Pippa23
think Nigel Farage will be interesting and will say a lot of things that many people agree with but don’t feel they can say. I find him fascinating and admire him for standing up against almost all the other politicians at the European Parliament, he took te money and made for some very awkward situations but he never backtracked. At least we know how he really thinks and feels.

I agree šŸ‘šŸ˜„

maddyone Tue 21-Nov-23 12:53:31

I don’t think we need to worry about Farage becoming leader of the Conservative Party Maybee. It’s not going to happen. He’s not even a member of the Conservative Party, nor an MP.

Fairycakes Tue 21-Nov-23 12:49:27

I like Nigel Farage. He says it as it is. I'm not sure it was wise of him to go into the jungle, though. He'll probably be voted for all the worst tasks 😁. I don't think I'll be watching it. I haven't seen it in years.

Hiker Tue 21-Nov-23 12:45:44

Can’t stand him. What was ITV thinking?

Authoress Tue 21-Nov-23 12:45:25

Gods no. Disgraceful, awful, amoral man, only there to try and resurrect his appalling political party.

Susieq62 Tue 21-Nov-23 12:42:52

Never watched it, not going to now ! Is Farage broke ?? Why is he getting more money than others? Does he need the publicity and kudos ???
I hope he stays in Oz they are welcome to him and he would fit in well with certain areas of their society
I am also disappointed that Grace Dent is taking part šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Buntymart Tue 21-Nov-23 12:34:30

I like Nigel Farage... he certainly isn't hated by everyone!

Lily49 Tue 21-Nov-23 12:26:44

I happen to like Nigel Farage and will be watching.
