I have just watched the first series of this. It’s set in Dublin and the dialect can be hard to follow, but that aside think it’s very good. First series stars Ciarán Hinds and Aiden Gillen.

Best TV I’ve seen this year is Slow Horses. Now half way through S3. DH who has read most of Nick Herron’s books says the series are very similar to the books.

i thought it was horrible.
and obviously derivative from the godfather.
was hoping there would be some point to it, but there wasn't.

I think that even amongst these drug criminals there was some kind of moral code going on no matter how unpalatable. I like the way the main female character is gradually taking over because she is somewhat brighter than the males within the family. Another thing I quite liked about it was that although it was violent it wasn’t lurid violence. Which is why I gave up on Boat Story within 15 minutes.

Currently watching this on iplayeŕ.
Good storyline but can't stand the actress playing Amanda she comes across as stiff and not right for the role she is playing.
