I’m really confused here as I thought Ted had died. But now I’ve read that he’s still in the series. I must admit that I haven’t been watching the current series, much as I love it. I thought he went up to heaven in last years Christmas special?

LOVE the programme - it's right up my street!

Their Christmas programme is filmed in France this year.
Ted is owned by the Producer and very much alive and well and loves fishing 😁

GrannyBettie Fri 20-Dec-24 14:48:54

Unless he has recently died he was alive and well in this year's series. He also has a book out!

Galton Fri 20-Dec-24 14:12:50

There was a Christmas version on the week before this. Was that a repeat. It always makes me chuckle when the dogs talks of those two being a pair of muppets.

I just love the show. Ted cheeky grin. The fun they have on their fishing trips like a couple of school boys. The accomodation and scenery are glorious

He has just been on this morning with paul and the producer and there is a book about ted. He is very popular it seems. So very much alive.

He was on this morning today. Ted and his co star Paul

So glad that Ted is alive and well smile

It was an internet rumour because another well-known Ted the Dog had died.

Ziplok Wed 20-Dec-23 21:00:18

The Norway Christmas special had Ted featured at the end of the programme using computer generated technology. It wasn’t because he had died but because the programme was based in Norway, and he wouldn’t have been able to go there physically - I imagine, post Brexit, that it’s not as easy to take your pets abroad as it once was.

That's odd, rumor is the American spelling of rumour.

If they’ve had to say he’s ok then it can’t just be me that thought he’d died confused

Callistemon21 Wed 20-Dec-23 18:35:13

Apologies.
It was reported that Ted had died, it did seem to be a valid report.

MayBee70 Wed 20-Dec-23 18:35:01

I still think the Christmas special made it look as if he was dead. DH agrees with me.He had been seriously ill at one point and I wonder if they assumed he wouldn’t be in future programmes? Anyway, I’m pleased that he isn’t and am now binge watching the latest series.

Ted is alive and well.

We love the series, no interest in fishing though.

DanniRae Wed 20-Dec-23 18:16:05

Oh Sago I hope you are right.
We lost our beloved dog earlier this year and feel a little comfort watching Ted.
Can someone please confirm that he is still alive?

Ted featured briefly the other evening; it was a repeat of last year's Christmas Special.

However, it was a computer generated Ted as he had died in October 2022.

Ted is alive and well, I follow him on Instagram.

Mr R and I love this programme, especially if Ted is in it! smile

Must admit I love this series. I don't mind if they're repeats as we haven't seen the earlier ones. Just glorious, and you don't even have to like fishing.

The scenery is sublime, the banter between Whitehouse and Mortimer is gentle and funny, and the accompanying music just sets the scene perfectly.

If you haven't come across it yet, just take a look.

Aveline Wed 20-Dec-23 08:39:22

There was a new series this year. It was shown in the summer I thought but can't quite remember. The Norway special was last year's.
I love this programme. The gentle comedy, lovely locations and music. 10/10 from me!

Sago Wed 20-Dec-23 08:34:50

The Norway episode was filmed last year, it is a repeat.
Ted isn’t in every episode, he is the producers dog.
He is a Patterdale terrier, we had a Patterdale she sadly died two years ago she lived to 16.

I really don’t know.

Auntieflo Tue 19-Dec-23 22:22:27

I thought that the Gone Fishing programmes, were repeats.
