I was a bit annoyed that they destroyed those padded jackets. They looked as though they were in good enough condition to wear and I am surprised that Patrick went along with it as he is a supporter of sustainable fashion.

Love Sewing Bee, I too only knew Toyah and Kerry.
I liked Kiell he's far more natural that Sarah Pascoe, she was irritating.
I thought Kiell was the new presenter for the new series?

Luckygirl13, I agree. I remember one episode, or perhaps it was another show, they were given a load of shrunken and mishapen knitwear, material bound for recucling anyway and got them to make a garment. The result perversely was some of the most wearable clothes possible.

The transformation round should be based on clothes rejected by charity shops as not fit for sale.

I really enjoy this programme, but always cringe when they start deconstructing (i.e. ripping up) perfectly useable garments for the purpose of turning them into some piece of nonsense that will be binned in the end.

I prefer the normal Sewing Bee and don't really see the point of the celebrity one. I thought Kiell was fine. I like Sarah Pascoe but don't think she is well suited to the Sewing Bee.

I enjoyed it, but I usually do. Kiell of course is well known for Ghosts. I like him much more that Sarah Pascoe. Esme and Patrick can do no wrong for me.

I watched it on Catch Up, and almost wished that I hadn't bothered.
I knew of Toyah, and seemed to recognise Kerry from somewhere. Is she an actress?
Did not like Kiell one bit, and thought Patrick and Esmé far too forced.
Is Kiell going to be the new presenter for a future series? 😱

I also knew Kerry Godliman, and Jessica because she was on Richard Osman's House of Games in the same week. She is a comedian. I had the idea that Toyah was around my age (77), but she is only 65, which I why I thought she looked good.
I quite liked Kiell the presenter, but I think it was only a one-off for the Celeb show.

Just a lighthearted programme that I enjoy. I enjoyed this one too even though, like everyone else, I only knew Toyah.
Good on them for having a go. I got the impression that the man (can’t remember his name) had never sewn before?
Still, he knew how to deconstruct a mannequin so well done him.

Yes, I too enjoyed it. I really don't know how the contestants have the imagination to make up such clever garments. I would still be sitting there an hour later, holding the material, with a glazed look,on my face.

Yup I had only heard if Toya Wilcox too. All these c’lebs that no one has ever heard of, they are everywhere.

I always think it's a bit "cringy" BlueBelle ... a bit like a pantomime at times ... but I put up with it to see the sewing.

BlueBelle Sat 23-Dec-23 13:29:58

I only knew Toyah too Sparklefizz and I personally found it a bit cringy can’t say I enjoyed it that much, but that’s me, glad you did

Did anyone watch this the other evening? I didn't know any of the celebs except for Toyah Wilcox but during the programme they seemed a nice bunch and I enjoyed it.
