Has anybody watched the 2nd series of 'The Traitors' on BBC1 / iPlayer tonight?

I really, really liked the 1st series last year - so much so that I also watched the US & Australian versions on iPlayer to ease withdrawal symptoms when it finished 😂.

Another obsession is about to start I think.......

Anyone viewed Traitors Uncloaked on IPlayer?
Contestants that have been banished or murdered are interviewed to give their views on who they think the Traitors are. It’s good fun.

As Chestnut says, viewers should not always trust what they get shown. Any such series is heavily edited to manipulate viewers --- it gets called "reality TV" but it's about as "reality" as a panto! It's a good vehicle for Goth Claudia though.

SPOILERS IN HERE.

I disliked Ash from the start even on the journey so I'd be happy to see her go.
Paul, Sonia and Harry were also on my "not drawn to you" list and I was annoyed that Paul and Harry were chosen as they were so obvious choices.

I find myself liking Jaz and Zack - but also think others probably won't so much. I also feel for Brian as I think he's probably quite soft. I don't want him to go yet.

I was also disappointed when the traitors picked Miles (? the Veterinary nurse) as I was finding him warm and genuine and didn't want to see him in that position.

Dianne doesn't bug me as much as some others though - and I do like the other veterinary nurse (Evie?).

I have just watched the first 3 episodes with my husband - and we weren't surprised at the voting. I think the men will do better without her - but obviously we don't know the end result yet here.

You are right about Charlotte Chestnut - she seems pretty brittle too.

I really don't like Charlotte any more. She told a blatant lie about Zack who she has taken a dislike to. Zack casually dropped a general jokey comment about dinner being 'the last supper' which Charlotte then told Miles he had said 'YOUR last supper' (to her). Then she told a whole room full of people he had said 'what, your last supper?' (again to her). So now everyone believes that Zack has said something nasty to Charlotte which is totally untrue. She's a liar and I don't like her for that.

Thank you nanaK54. I’ll dive into series 2 this week and catch up with everyone 😊

The first series passed me by despite suggestions from my grandchildren to watch it . Will I need to watch series 1 to get the new series or could I go straight there ?

No they are 'standalone'

I’ve just watched the first two episodes, really enjoying it, but do not like Diane

Didn’t watch last series but friends did and raved about it. So watching this series and certainly it has got me hooked. And I do like Diane.

Fancy playing along? There's a predictor game

Fair enough. It's all good viewing and entertainment.

I always think the tasks are good. At first they seem impossible in the time but almost always work out.

What you see is the edited version which is not filmed in real time. Extra time is allocated when necessary so that tasks are completed just as they are supposed to, and everything works out exactly as the BBC want it to work out. It's the same with I'm a Celeb. They show you what they want you to see.

Love it! Won’t binge watch as not much else on TV.
What do people think about the suggestion, which was quickly glossed over, that there is a mother and child combination on the programme? “Just sayin’ “

I won't spoil it for anyone (I've watched 3 episodes on iPlayer), but episodes 2&3 are real eye openers about 2 supposed 'honest & truthful' faithfuls!)

Aveline Fri 05-Jan-24 12:17:24

Second guess

The little cliques all telling each other their opinions are hilarious.
I'd absolutely hate to be on that programme. I'd think I'd go mad trying to second everyone else. Or I'd be a great traitor!

annodomini Fri 05-Jan-24 12:12:41

I somehow missed the first series but am now hooked on the current series. What has astonished me has been the short time allocated to their daily tasks! They needed to be fit to rush around in the 'bird call' challenge!

aquagran Fri 05-Jan-24 11:54:38

But reading things into comments is the fun of the game. Don’t we all have our own thoughts as to who will be banished or murdered. Questioning comments is the game.

Chestnut Fri 05-Jan-24 11:46:42

Faithfuls often have their own little theories especially at the start because they are scratching around for any clues which might reveal a traitor. They notice things that people do or say which might reveal something, so I don't think we should read anything into their comments. They have more often than not been wrong, especially when they say 'xxx is 100% definitely not a traitor' which always makes me laugh when they are in fact a traitor.

Aubrey had a shop in our small local town. It was fabulous. His mum used to help out and his dog was often there.

DD3 waitresses in the restaurant next door while she was a student as she delivered coffee and champagne to him.

I wondered why that was mentioned as well.

Those that stand out seem to be unlikeable characters so I don't feel drawn towards any of them. The others seem to be mostly rather vanilla at the moment, but it's early days and we will get to know them better. It's not a good move shouting about how clever you are at watching people and reading people as some have done. That makes you a target for the traitors. Better to keep very quiet and go under the radar until halfway through the game. You can read people without shouting about it.

The Traitors series - I really love this series. But i have very short time and just watched 1st episode. It was quite interesting. Good to watch.
