Has anybody watched the 2nd series of 'The Traitors' on BBC1 / iPlayer tonight?

I really, really liked the 1st series last year - so much so that I also watched the US & Australian versions on iPlayer to ease withdrawal symptoms when it finished 😂.

Another obsession is about to start I think.......

The series was recorded a good six months before it aired and before the 'Uncloaked' programmes that followed each episode on BBC2. Last night we saw the contestants together again. Molly said that she and Harry were friends on Facebook though we all know how little or how much that can mean! She was certainly able to speak calmly and evidently without regrets. After all, she did have a part to play. How much of her ingenue act was just that - an act?

I agree with you DM I think she will be affected for a long time to come and I hope she is getting support. I think the producers need to think long and hard about recruitment for next years show. Its all well and good having to be inclusive and recruit all members of society, but Meryl was vulnerable last year just as Molly was this. They both have enough difficulties to cope with without being made a target for more ridicule. What happened to Molly could just as easily have happened to Meryl and will happen again if the wrong participants are selected.

Bluebelle… try the other versions of Traitors, maybe after a short respite. Alan Cummings on the US version is creepily good , not similar to Lovely Claudia, but weird. Give them a try!

Ha! Parsley,I recognise the quote.

Poor young girl and I thought he was a sociopath. All that guff about the money being for his family. She may yet come out of it well though. Shame the oldies were turfed off early.

I think Mollie will be damaged for a long time to come. She seemed to forget the name of the game.

Poor Jaz, he deserved to win a share and if Mollie hadn't changed the name then he would have had nearly £50,000. She will have to live with that. What a stunning ending that would have been if Harry had victory snatched from him at the last minute. I wonder how he would have taken it.

On Traitors Uncloaked Mollie and Harry were asked if they were good friends again 'for the viewers' and they both said yes, but I don't believe that for a minute. I did wonder if Harry might have shared his winnings with Mollie but he didn't.

A great tv finale wasn’t it tho?
A worthy winner in my view, and surprising he was so good at it given his young age.I see a future in tv for him now.
Felt sorry for Mollie tho of course.A lesson in not getting involved and bonding when taking part in a game for cash.

I think the parting Easter egg was for this Easter. It was filmed in the summer when the countryside is looking its best and the weather more likely to behave itself.

Parsley3 Sat 27-Jan-24 10:15:37

I was hoping that Mollie would vote for Harry and get her share of the money because the truth was going to be so harsh for her. It was heartbreaking to watch her distress at the end.

NotSpaghetti Sat 27-Jan-24 09:57:24

Was it filmed last spring? I think Miles (?) Said "leaving you with a little Easter egg".

BlueBelle Sat 27-Jan-24 08:12:30

I think we all knew Harry would win and that doe eyed Mollie would never betray him I hope she has learned that not every good looking man is a goody
I don’t think I want to watch the other versions that ll put me into overkill and I ll go off it
Claudia is totally excellent it’s a part made for her I can’t imagine a US equivalent I think it will do me good to wait a year

shysal Sat 27-Jan-24 07:49:57

I read that they have already recruited for the next series. In the meantime I shall be viewing the USA and Australian versions.

NotSpaghetti Sat 27-Jan-24 01:04:16

I think you are right Chestnut.

Chestnut Sat 27-Jan-24 00:08:50

Well I said last week that Harry would win and sure enough he swept everyone else under the carpet. I also had a feeling it would be Mollie standing there with him because she made it so clear she was no threat to him, therefore he would never need to murder her or banish her. It was a nail biting climax with Mollie holding the winner in her hand. And the moment they faced each other and he declared himself a traitor, well, we knew that poor girl was going to collapse in shock.

I'm afraid that money will just be split amongst that huge family of his and will do little good.

It was good but the ending felt like an anticlimax. I suppose you can’t have all the contestants outside whooping and cheering like Bake Off seeing as they’ve all been shafted but it fell a bit flat for me.

Parsley3 Fri 26-Jan-24 23:17:10

Oh that was good. Poor Mollie who didn't have the heart to banish Harry although the evidence was right under her nose. And Harry who could smile and smile and smile and be a villain. The follow up podcast on BBC 2 was very revealing, especially Diane's body language when she is sitting next to Paul. Great entertainment.

Toetoe Fri 26-Jan-24 23:05:49

I loved every episode . I shall miss it . Harry was very clever.

YorkLady Fri 26-Jan-24 23:00:35

Why did Mollie think Jaz was the Traitor at the end? Just think…….. why would a Traitor want to banish again!!
I’m really going to miss this series and Claudia was fabulous.

BlueBelle Fri 26-Jan-24 22:42:36

Just words Joseann she’s besotted
A life’s lesson I hope she’s realised not all the glisters is gold

Joseann Fri 26-Jan-24 22:22:32

Earlier Mollie said she'd never speak to Harry again.
I'm not so sure.

aquagran Fri 26-Jan-24 22:19:31

Poor Jaz!
Foolish Mollie!
Clever Harry!

nanaK54 Fri 26-Jan-24 22:16:10

Oh that was good!

merlotgran Fri 26-Jan-24 22:14:16

She was so taken in by him. I really hoped she’d been string him along all the time.

BlueBelle Fri 26-Jan-24 22:11:54

Boooooooo
I hope mollie learns a life lesson that a good looking lad isn’t always telling the truth
