Has anybody watched the 2nd series of 'The Traitors' on BBC1 / iPlayer tonight?

I really, really liked the 1st series last year - so much so that I also watched the US & Australian versions on iPlayer to ease withdrawal symptoms when it finished 😂.

Another obsession is about to start I think.......

Farzanah

Psychopaths would do well in this game.

I clocked Paul as a psychopath right from the start because he has all the traits. He was so excited and gleeful to be a traitor, and has shown no emotion except regarding his children, which was faked to save himself and make himself seem vulnerable. He draws people to him and then manipulates them. It is fascinating to see him in action and I hope he makes it through to the end but then loses, just to see his reaction. This is the perfect game for him.

Why did nobody notice the three traitors looking for the books?
Why would anybody drink from the chalice when all the time they are drinking from glasses?

I think more faithfuls will start to suspect Paul the arch manipulator, he is playing the game well. Just hope Jaz does not become too outspoken as I want him to stay in. I did not watch the first series when it was broadcast but caught up later on player and watched over several evenings so am finding this rather drawn out.

I agree that Jaz seems nice, but I think he’s the only one that I can really take to.

BlueBelle Sun 14-Jan-24 17:10:26

I think Jaz is doing a good job and seems a nice fella
I wouldn’t want to go out with Paul the lies he could tell with a smile on his face

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 16:10:38

Psychopaths would do well in this game.

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 16:09:55

Jaz should be recruited by the Secret Services 😀

Chestnut Sun 14-Jan-24 15:55:34

I have a feeling the final group will consist of a few vanilla type faithfuls and a very smart traitor. The faithfuls who will make it through are the ones who are no threat and do not get themselves murdered.

There are so many sub-plots going on my head is spinning! I wonder how they remember all the sneaky conversations they've had and with who. It must be easy to make a mistake and say the wrong thing or speak to the wrong person.

Paul is the arch-manipulator who not only attracts followers but can make them do his bidding. As they said on Traitors Uncloaked, this makes him so powerful that people are scared to name him. Therefore anyone suspecting him will not want to risk it. Jaz is not falling for his tricks but will have to play his cards carefully about suspecting Paul. Can anyone remember, did he mention his suspicions to Harry? I think he did, in which case he is at huge risk. I really don't want Jaz to be eliminated but he is smart and that makes him a target.

BlueBelle Sun 14-Jan-24 11:37:56

Sara I’m enjoying it too but not as much as the first one maybe it was all new and exciting first time round, but now we kind of know what to expect more
I don’t think Paul will be in the end game maybe Harry and Miles they are both very likeable Harry’s only 22 so he couldn’t have been in the army very long

Aveline Sun 14-Jan-24 11:36:03

If Jaz is voted out then the people he's spoken about Paul to will know Paul's a traitor. I think his days are numbered.
I agree that baby faced Harry is likely to make it to the end.

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 11:27:30

I hope you’re right Oreo.

shysal Sun 14-Jan-24 11:21:39

I love it and am hooked! I didn't see the first series so intend to watch that at a later date.
I also think Paul won't make it, but Harry might do, as long as Paul doesn't throw him under the bus.

Oreo Sun 14-Jan-24 11:17:54

I predict that Paul won’t make it to the end.😜

Farzanah Sun 14-Jan-24 10:49:46

I think Paul will make it through to the end Oreo. He is a very clever player and doesn’t seem to be on anyone’s radar apart from Jaz, who will surely be murdered as a result.

Sara1954 Sat 13-Jan-24 21:42:51

Just caught up again, I’m enjoying it, but maybe not as much as the first series, maybe it’s a matter of knowing what to expect, and really I’m not keen on any of them, so I’m not so bothered who is voted out or murdered.
I shall keep watching though.

I'm intrigued that Diane is now doubting her Son's status - how come neither of them have asked the other this outright question when they're so direct with other aspersions and accusations?

Oreo Fri 12-Jan-24 08:58:21

I think Claudia is very good in this series, can’t stand her in anything else tho.
If only she would trim her fringe and ditch the orange make up.

Oreo Fri 12-Jan-24 08:56:07

I don’t think Paul will make it through to the end, one or two have noticed how calm and smug he’s being.Interesting how nobody suspects Tracey or Ross or Harry so far and I think that the two disabled contestants will go far in the game as psychologically nobody will want to cast aspersions on them.
They think Harry is young and a bit gormless so he may win!

NotSpaghetti Fri 12-Jan-24 06:34:31

So true Chestnut.
I wish he had been voted out but seems unlikely.

Chestnut Fri 12-Jan-24 00:23:26

I quite like Paul - I don't think he is taking himself seriously really.

No, Paul is taking himself very seriously. He is out to win. I said right at the start I disliked him because he had such a smug looking smile all the time. I can't understand why he is so popular!

Has anyone else noticed how much time he is given in the diary room? Some of the others are never seen or rarely seen. Something is going on there.

Aveline Thu 11-Jan-24 16:04:26

I liked Ash and was sorry she was voted out. She'd have been better as a faithful. Might have suited her personality more.

BlueBelle Thu 11-Jan-24 15:58:40

Not too keen on Paul bit too cocky for me
If anyone watches the after show on bbc2 a wasnt Ash lovely and has the most infectious laugh seemed a generally nice person admits she didn’t play the game as well as she should have

Parsley3 Thu 11-Jan-24 15:24:54

Oh yes, Paul is being overconfident just now and he was very put out at not being saved. I wonder if they will choose another traitor now.

Farzanah Thu 11-Jan-24 15:23:31

He’s certainly a jolly good game player (ruthless) and if he’s really a nice guy he’s a good actor too, as I don’t think he’s really endearing himself to many viewers.
