Sadly not for me. I didn't like Bread or Butterflies at all. But enjoy. Humour is so individual

I loved the Liverbirds when I was a teenager. It really captured a mood and time. I also enjoyed Butterflies but not sure it will have stood the test of time. I never really got into Bread, I don't know why. It just didn't resonate with me somehow.

Loved Carla Lane as a person though.

Watching and enjoying.

Joey has really changed with age.

Enjoyed that programme. I was a fan of Butterflies and the Liver Birds but didn’t really ‘get’ Bread. Was interesting to hear the actor’s stories though. John Nettles used to be quite a dish!

Glad it's not just me Treebee. Bread was so very popular but, like you, I just couldn't get it. In fact for some inexplicable reason it actually irritated me!

Loved the Liver Birds and Butterflies though.

I couldn’t get into Bread either but loved the Liver Birds and Butterflies.

I’d forgotten John Nettles was the love interest in LB. How great to see it again.

I hadn’t realised how MANY years ago, these programmes aired!
I knew Jean Boht (Nellie Boswell ) in London where her daughters were at primary school in Streatham with our eldest two. I was sorry to see that she died last September, just a matter of weeks after her husband, the composer, Carl Davis. Even sorrier to see she suffered from vascular dementia.
My claim to fame was that I catered the party they held after the first performance of (I think) his Clarinet Concerto.
I preferred Bread to Liver Birds but liked Butterflies best of all.

I could not stand Butterflies, with that dreadful whingeing wife, enjoying a privileged existence in a lovely house, wonderful wardrobe, no financial worries and married to Geoffrey Palmer.
Get a job, or better still, take a cookery course.

Butterflies was ruined for me after that dreadful line " I want to be raped!"

The Liver Birds was good, as was Butterflies, but Bread soon became irritating and will be a chore to watch now.
I think of the three best known Carla Lane sitcoms, Butterflies stands up the best, as it is quite timeless and anything with Geoffrey Palmer in is always good. He was always at his best playing upper middle class, often irritated men.

I won’t be watching. This humour doesn’t travel well. So stilted and not very good scripts.
I think there’s only one old one that I would watch again and that would be Boys from the Black Stuff.

Another one here who didn’t like bread. Enjoyed the others at the time.

Avoid anything Carla Lane made in the nineties. The Liver Birds sequel was a real let down and her other sitcoms, Luv and Screaming, were terrible.
