Well I'm getting into it and am now finding it rather fun. Calling it silly is a bit silly because it's meant to be silly! I'm quite liking the way the characters bounce off each other. They drive each other nuts but underneath there's a lot of love and affection.

Oh, these unbelievable families where they all do everything together. Disappointing and silly.

kittylester Sat 17-Feb-24 08:59:00

Well, we laughed out loud last night. We enjoy it a lot.

granfromafar Sat 17-Feb-24 08:46:10

I thought I would give this another go last night as had only seen snatches of it. Parts of it were funny, but mostly rather silly, eg Alison Steadman's character bringing a children's lunchbox of honey sandwiches for her adult son at the footballgame! A waste of great talent such as Katherine Parkinson and Alison Steadman.

Thank you everyone!

I thought if Alison Steadmsn was in it, then it might be worth watching. But then perhaps it won't compare favourably to her performance in Gavin and Stacey, an absolute classic!

I'll try it - there's always the delete button 😃

God loves a tryer 😂

Thank goodness for that, twinnytwin, I’d started to think we were the only ones who loved it! I’m with you on the rest of your viewing choices as well, though I do make an exception for Corrie. smile

DH and I absolutely love it. Just shows that we all have different ideas about what programmes we like. I can't stand soaps, dancing, jungle, bake offs, pottery etc competitions although it seems millions do. Give us a good murder, although no gore please and we're happy.

Currently watching Alison Steadman in Fat Friends.( she was excellent in that). Takes me a while. I liked her in that programme with Peter Davison about flat dwelling.
Sorry, not watched the programme this post is about, saw trailers and it didn’t appeal.

I watched the first series and found it just okay enough to keep watching, but really only because there was nothing else. I'll keep going for now, although the dad annoys me and that level of chaos is almost to much.

Not Going Out is my absolute favourite and I've watched every episode from the start.

Pittcity Sat 03-Feb-24 09:11:15

I don't enjoy it, but did watch the repeat of Not Going Out which is equally cheesy but in a good way.

petra Sat 03-Feb-24 09:00:04

I gave it my best shot ( 10 minutes 😂) it’s dire 🤦🏼‍♀️

Calendargirl Sat 03-Feb-24 08:37:20

I think I watched the original pilot but wasn’t impressed, and didn’t watch anymore. Too laboured, and not really funny.

Alison Steadman has been in some not-very-good stuff in recent years, IMHO.

The ghastly Hold The Dream, and another one where she was Peter Davison’s wife, living in a block of flats, the life stories of all who resided there.

And was she also in Boomers? That did grow on me (slightly).

CoolCoco Sat 03-Feb-24 08:30:51

Not very funny in my opinion. A bit too chaotic and predictable. Shame.

MayBee70 Fri 02-Feb-24 23:24:06

It’s something I want to like but haven’t really liked the ones I’ve seen. Starring one of the actors from Ghosts, Alison Steadman, Catherine Jenkins ( Jenkinson?) from The IT Crowd. And Simon Farnaby is in the new series. So I should like it. Am going to give it another go.

Maggiemaybe Fri 02-Feb-24 23:23:28

We watched the first series and have just seen the first episode of the new series (yes, the rugby took priority here too grin).

It’s about the everyday lives of a chaotic family as documented by the teenage son using a handheld camera. For a bit of background, the dad’s greatest boast is that he was once an also-ran in the Olympic archery squad, and the mum has just gone back to university as a mature student and is struggling to fit in. The teenage daughter split up from her girlfriend in series 1 and is still depressed about life in general, Alison Steadman is grandma, and has some good lines.

I dare say it’s not to everyone’s taste (nothing is) but we like it.

It was on tonight, Friday 2nd February at 8pm.
I didn’t find it particularly funny, although I love Alison Steadman but not in this.
Turned over to Gardeners World.

Callistemon21 Fri 02-Feb-24 22:41:38

I recorded it.
Apparently it was important to watch the rugby!!

Alison Steadman is in it and she's usually excellent.

flappergirl Fri 02-Feb-24 22:40:24

I've not heard of it and now I see that I've missed it. What's it about and is it any good?

Callistemon21 Fri 02-Feb-24 19:16:27

Did anyone watch Series 1? I didn't but have just seen a clip from Series 2 which begins soon.

Well, soon or has already started?
According to the BBC website "Here We Go is on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday 2 February at 8pm."
