I’m going to have a Donald where’s your troosers earworm now 😂

I’ve got it now too 👂🏻🪱

David reminds me of the hairdresser character in Benidorm who now plays the undertaker in Corrie.

Thanks shysal.
Anyone know who Johnny is?

I put it on just to see Sharon Osborne, and, jings, she does look dreadful.
Anyway, the Princess’s uncle said he was in it to ‘alter the way he was portrayed in the media’. Have I missed media coverage of him?

Also, I read a very interesting piece the other day called ‘ Just Let Them’, suggesting that people will be much happier if they accept that everybody does/ thinks/enjoys/ dislikes different things, so…just let them. My late father could be a bit intolerant of others’ foibles, and my mother often told him, ‘ They’re no’ takin’ the sugar oot your tea, leave them alone’.

Anyway, I’m certain Levi Roots will win.

If you've missed all the Gary coverage, so have I. I think Sharon nailed it when she said he was out of his comfort zone amongst celebrities, even though some of them are definitely Z list.

I agree about leaving people to enjoy what they enjoy. I can't for the life of me understand what people get out of potholing, for instance, but I don't log onto potholersRus.com and tell them all how barmy they are, or how life's too short, as well, life's too short grin

At this stage, I think the winner will be (drumroll. . . .) Fern. Coulson is a contender, and the young lad whose name I haven't got in my head yet. I suspect that most voters will be young, and he seems popular with them. There's plenty of time for all that to change though, and I think Levi will go a long way, too.

Levi found fame on Dragons' Den years ago. He sang 'Reggae Reggae Sauce', in his lovely velvet voice, to promote his hot sauce in the days before that sort of thing was commonplace. He has become a very successful businessman and cook.

Celebrities? I only know Fern and Levi but who are the others? Its drivel but I have watched a bit of it - so funny.

I didn’t even know Levi!
Who is he?

😂 Entertainment’s not what it used to be, is it?

Thank goodness!

Apparently Uncle Gary beat up his wife in 2017 in a drunken brawl- heard this on J Vine… well at least Kate’s family also has some dodgy family members

I’d never heard of him till he popped up this week. I think he belongs in the legend in his own mind category.

I am sure it is, GG. He’s very annoying though.

I wonder if they think that Louis is going to name people for the vote, as he was in it with Sharon the first time?

I would hate to be in a dormitory with all those people. I struggle to share a room with my own husband grin. Being around people 24/7 would be torture, and knowing I was being filmed would add to the stress. All the same, I think that giving Sharon special treatment is wrong.

I put it on last night when I got in, but was getting ready for bed, so didn’t watch closely. I felt a bit sorry for Uncle Gary - it must be hard to have to take disappointment so publicly. One person choosing him is better than being voted out though, and they’ll all have to get used to that.

I wonder if they will bring Schofield in? He’d have the brass neck to do it, and it would make excellent viewing. I can’t see Fern being voted out in the early days, so they would almost certainly get her reaction. Does anyone remember the series when they brought in Jackie Stallone? Her DIL (Brigit Neilson?) was horrified 😂.

Why does it bother some people that others are enjoying CBB?
That's what I can't figure out.confused Do they think that those of us who are fans will read their 'wise' words and instantly decide to never watch it again? Well that aint gonna happen so, as someone has already said, JOG ON!! smile

Cossy Thu 07-Mar-24 09:30:22

PS Madly, I adore Mrs O and Fern and Mrs O and Louis together are like two naughty school children and despite everything they make me smile!! But dear me, what have they done to their faces 🫣🫣

Cossy Thu 07-Mar-24 09:28:13

No, that's very true, GSM, but I'd really like to know what the motivation is for people to be so deeply unpleasant as to say viewers of a popular show need psychiatric help. It's so clearly OTT and venomous that it's fascinating.

The role of the BBC, and by extension other channels is to educate, inform and entertain. People get entertainment in various ways, and many people who spend the day reading professional papers, or working in various ways simply want to enjoy the entertainment part of that role in the evenings.

If anyone prefers to challenge their intellect at all times, there is a whole section on Audience Theory in most academic libraries. Maybe they could read up a bit on that before making inane comments about 'unmitigated tripe' and openly mocking others? that would at least add to the thread in a useful manner.

Someone posting to ask why people enjoy it would no doubt get a polite answer explaining what fans get out of it all. that could make an interesting discussion, as people will have different answers, I'm sure. But when we are told that it is rubbish, that people would rather watch paint dry and similar, the chances of real discussion with non-fans are greatly reduced, aren't they?

Many don't like BB. Many others do. It's not political, and those who enjoy it have no impact on those who don't. So why spoil it?

Well, encouraged by daughters watched the first episode last night. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I enjoyed it, but in some insane way it does fascinate me. I cannot think of anything worse than being trapped in a house like this however much money I was paid. I’m not sure there’s enough money in the world to persuade me to be filmed 24/7 and have to squabble over beds then share and sleep and eat with all these strangers!

I don’t know if I’ll watch any more episodes, however, once watching it’s hard not to become invested!

Beechnut Thu 07-Mar-24 09:26:02

Has anyone sang Donald where’s your trousers to their tv? 🤣

GrannyGravy13 Thu 07-Mar-24 09:18:47

I am warming to Uncle Gary, love Fern, I think Louie is looking rather diva-ish

The young man (Coulson) seems nice and genuine (I do not watch soaps but I think he said he was in Coronation Street)

I really cannot warm to the man who doesn’t wear trousers, I wonder if his over the top demeanour is a sign if inner insecurities?

rafichagran Thu 07-Mar-24 09:12:10

I have just seen a clip of Sharon and Louis on Good Morning Britainof bitching about name droppers. Sharon is so blunt and named the person. I must say I like them together and I laughed.

Grannynannywanny Thu 07-Mar-24 07:36:47

Louis looks uncomfortable much of the time. He seems to be enjoying the younger ones fawning over him but when he’s not engaged in conversation he looks ill at ease. It can’t be easy living in that constant babble of noise then having to share sleeping quarters.

I think Fern is coming across well. She appears calm and relaxed and slips in and out of interview mode and they don’t even realise. Uncle Gary is putty in her hands 😊

rafichagran Thu 07-Mar-24 00:27:30

Louie may not be coming across well to but it seems that some housemates can't wait to talk to him. The jury is out with him, I thought he behaved badly over the bed situation with Lauren.

maddyone Thu 07-Mar-24 00:06:51

I don’t think I like Louie. He seems totally self absorbed. I’m not liking him at all.

Nannylovesshopping Wed 06-Mar-24 22:33:51

Louis is all about himself, boring! Fern leaving if Philip Schofield is a late entry, loved her to have been more explicit! Nikita determined to win horse race, true characters starting to come out, love it!
