Love this programme, Gary Goldsmith has just gone in should be interesting.

David is quite likeable, in an annoying sort of way. I thought Doodledog’s description of him as an annoying wasp was accurate, but on the other hand, he doesn’t seem to have much malice in him.

Doodledog Wed 20-Mar-24 17:34:59

Of the ones left, I would prefer to see Fern or Colson win, but I doubt they will. Fern because I think she's had a rough time in the house. I like her less than I did, but still. Colson just because he seems normal and kindly.

I'd maybe order the rest as Bradley, David, Nikita then Louis, but I'm not really bothered.

I think the most likely to win is probably Nikita, but I don't know enough about Bradley to know if he has the sort of fan base to vote. He could pull it off, too.

nanaK54 Wed 20-Mar-24 17:28:17

Please not David and his thighs grin

NannyPT Wed 20-Mar-24 17:22:49

I reckon it will be Nikita, David or Louis that wins.

Doodledog Wed 20-Mar-24 17:22:24

I saw the Late and Live thing last night, and thought that both Marisha and Zeze came over well. It's easy to forget how the edit can make such a difference.

maddyone Wed 20-Mar-24 17:04:08

The brain is not completely mature until age 25, and so Nikita is now fully mature, but still very young. Fern is 66 I think so has maturity and experience on her side. I don’t think Nikita meant to offend Fern, and I think she was probably far too touchy about her age (who could blame her after the even Fern looks good comment from Louis) but both were unable to move past the offence each caused the other. As Fern is older and wiser, or is supposed to be, I think the onus was really on her to move things along to the mutual satisfaction of both, but Nikita did make that difficult. Personally, after all that last night, I would have been pleased to see Fern go. I don’t think she’s quite as nice as she likes to portray herself, but maybe Nikita isn’t either.

Bradley is coming out well, he’s totally non controversial. I thought he was going to be a pain when he first went in the house, but I think he was just over excited. He now seems to be very nice. He might win.

dogsmother Wed 20-Mar-24 16:00:27

Seriously as I see it Nikita can’t have the depth of maturity that Fern at her age has to deal with her comments in comparison he really is but a child. In my view a very mature and p9lite one too.

Doodledog Wed 20-Mar-24 15:54:22

That's fine, DanniRae. You have your opinion and others have theirs. We just see it differently, is all.

I'd like Louis to be the mystery evictee, but I doubt it will happen.

Parsley3 Wed 20-Mar-24 14:58:22

Nikita wants to win as much as any if them and his strategy is just to be nice. It may be enough but time will tell.

DanniRae Wed 20-Mar-24 14:49:11

Oh for goodness sake! Why is there now negative comments about Nikita? I imagine he was mystified by Fern and her behaviour towards his harmless comments about her stripey jumper. In my opinion I think she was trying to 'wind him up' so he became annoyed and lost votes. She wants to win as much as any of them and she knows Nikita is the most likely to be successful!!
It's her I have lost any respect for and hope she goes before the final. (We were told that there is to be a surprise eviction before the final.)

Doodledog Wed 20-Mar-24 14:36:28

If Fern as it seems to me was insulted it’s her problem not someone who generations apart from her.

Why, though? Two people have different perceptions of something. Just because he's younger doesn't mean that he's right and she's wrong. She tried to explain why she was hurt, and instead of accepting that whereas he doesn't think that he will feel the same in 40 years time (how can he know?) he just kept saying that he wasn't being offensive. Why not just apologise and say that he didn't intend to cause offence, which is very different.

dogsmother Wed 20-Mar-24 12:52:20

I thought Fern was unnecessary in trying to educate Nikita about his comments. I rely on my children to tell me if I have something that’s fashionable. ( Surely he’s age of a grandson to her) I take it as an extra compliment. If Fern as it seems to me was insulted it’s her problem not someone who generations apart from her.

Grannynannywanny Wed 20-Mar-24 12:50:26

I think Nikita has tried hard to portray himself as a charming, gentle Mr Nice Guy but I’m not convinced. His mask slips momentarily at various times and this is usually when he’s looking at Fern.

Although I’ve watched every episode I feel like I’ve missed why he dislikes her so much. He seems to have a scowl on his face when he looks at Fern.

Anniebach Wed 20-Mar-24 12:27:00

No expression in Nikita’s eyes, this makes him seem cold,
for me it’s difficult to see anything nice about one of them

Doodledog Wed 20-Mar-24 11:41:26

Yes, I'm with you re Nikita. I found Jumpergate unsettling. His eyes were cold as he insisted that his version of events was the right one - there was no attempt to understand why Fern was upset, or concern that he was responsible. He was completely impassive.

Bradley hasn't shifted from the 'he seems like a nice boy' impression I had at the start. There's not much to him, really.

Parsley3 Wed 20-Mar-24 11:15:32

I am surprised to find myself going off Nikita. He is coming across as too good to be true with all this not wanting to offend anyone and putting himself up for eviction malarkey. If I was in there a Mr Nice Guy would probably get on my nerves. Bradley has made no impression on me at all, so I won't miss him if he goes.

Doodledog Wed 20-Mar-24 11:11:12

I think Jumpergate is very much a question of the edit, and of perspective. People have very different sensitivities, and there are those who are adept at sniffing them out and poking at them. I suspect that Nikita may be one of them. He didn't seem bewildered by Fern's comments - he knew she was upset, and he didn't apologise, but got defensive, which is often a sign that someone knows what they've done. At the same time, nis nerves would be stretched too, as he was also up for nomination.

See, this is why I enjoy BB so much grin. It's far from passive viewing, and demands more from the audience than just sitting back and taking in what someone is telling you, as happens with documentaries and so on. I've never understood the snobbery about it.

Louella12 Wed 20-Mar-24 11:02:56

Fern was embarrassing. How absurd to get upset about what he'd said. She was just rude.

nanaK54 Wed 20-Mar-24 09:59:25

I wanted to shout "for goodness sake stop talking Fern", I think that she is very sensitive about her age and that added to the fact that she now knows Nikita has nominated every time was all too much for her and that it all came out when she had been overindulging in the wine.
I loved that comment, may have been Marisha, not sure, but something along the lines of "at the end of time there will be cockroaches and Louis Walsh" grin

shysal Wed 20-Mar-24 09:50:31

Most of the showing of Fern's jumper comments was after the vote had closed. If it had been shown earlier I think she would have gone. She has gone down in my estimation, it was almost passive aggressive. I like Nikita and now want him to win.

rafichagran Tue 19-Mar-24 23:34:21

Doodledog Mr Rafi who really detests big brother, said he could see her point, I was surprised. I on the ither hand did see it and thought he was just paying her a casual compliment.

Doodledog Tue 19-Mar-24 23:04:20

I didn't see the comment about the jumper, but can see why Fern might have felt annoyed - it sounds a bit like when younger people say 'bless', or 'ooh, trendy' when an older person wears something fashionable. It's condescending.

He may or may not have meant it like that - as I say, I didn't see him say it - but I did see the conversation about it, and thought that Nilita was being deliberately obtuse when Fern explained why she felt uncomfortable. Even if he hadn't meant to do it, he would have to be spectacularly dim not to understand what she meant.

rafichagran Tue 19-Mar-24 22:40:47

Should of been Fern not Zeze, why make Nikita feel uncomfortable, he was complementing her. She really chose to take offence. I am 66 and would have taken it as a compliment.
I would really like to see her or Bradley go next, Bradley is nice but I don't find him entertaining.

Millie22 Tue 19-Mar-24 22:30:25

Should be Fern out ... not Zeze.

crazyH Tue 19-Mar-24 22:29:38

Yes, I thought Fern would go. Mind you, the public (including me) like a bit of drama so that’s why Fern and Louis are still in ..
