Did you watch this last night, Channel 5, 9pm?

A bit more realistic than last week’s ’Love Rat’ offering.

Jason Watkins looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights most of the time.

We’ll see what happens tonight.

^Also why didn’t Sophie resemble her parents?^
They were rather old parents for a child thst age.

Didn't Simon say that they had been using IVF and that it was their last attempt when the daughter was conceived?

I was dying to see how the elderly neighbour got up his ultra modern stairs. ! There is no way he would be living in such a property.
Also why didn’t Sophie resemble her parents?

Well I wasn’t expecting that ending. Why was DC Evans the only police on the job until the end? Why wasn’t horrible Jordan made to tell his Dad what he had said and done to Simon. , Still it did make compelling viewing.

Great ending. All loose ends tied up which is unusual these days. Really good twists and turns and great acting.
Now have a crush on Jonas Armstrong (Paul). ❤️

granfromafar Thu 21-Mar-24 22:15:32

That wasn't the ending I was expecting, but it had us hanging on the edge of our seats at each ad break!
Saw that it was filmed in Budapest, not Manchester where I believe it was set. It seems that a lot of these thrillers are filmed in European cities nowadays.

merlotgran Thu 21-Mar-24 22:09:05

I thought it was a good ending. Interesting relationship between a mild mannered, put upon man at the end of his tether and a terrifying psychopath with a smidgeon of heart.

Beechnut Thu 21-Mar-24 22:02:28

Well, that had more twists than Chubby Checker.

Boolya Thu 21-Mar-24 19:15:14

A friend of mine challenged two youngsters the other evening who were intent on breaking into the next door house. I had 'Coma' on my mind so wasn't sure if he was brave or foolhardy.

GrammaH Thu 21-Mar-24 18:43:50

Jason Watkins is brilliant . He is a wonderful actor & I'm pleased we're seeing more of him. Jordan is quite terrifying - those eyes!! I'm really interested to see how it all ends. I watched Love Rat last week, the ending was ridiculous so I hope I'm going to be happier with this week's outcome!

Delila Thu 21-Mar-24 17:46:25

Delia, I’ve laughed at it so much, and in a good way - the twists & turns are relentless - just when you feel Simon’s relief, another disaster befalls him. Excellent acting all round, and a very clever script.

Louella12 Thu 21-Mar-24 17:28:17

The F word is required. It's used everywhere.

BlueBelle Thu 21-Mar-24 17:21:51

That word is just as ordinary as ‘bother’ now it’s in regular use you may not like it but it is part of everyday language

mrsgreenfingers56 Thu 21-Mar-24 17:13:10

Am watching it and quite enjoying but still no excuse for the F word being used. Just not necessary.

Delia22 Thu 21-Mar-24 17:07:19

Sorry,I thought it was a bit oddly funny at times! Also a bit predictable. I have to agree with the aversion to the "language" as a previous poster said. However it's included in just about everything these days, apart from the news! So I have conditioned myself to accept it.Other than that I wouldn't watch anything!!😊

Marleygirl Thu 21-Mar-24 15:56:00

Excellent acting from all, particularly Jason - really looking forward to the last episode

Candelle Thu 21-Mar-24 15:37:02

I am 'enjoying' it but it is scary to see what can happen in a split second.

I rather thought that Beth would finish off Jordan whilst he was in hospital as she had opportunity but not so.

The acting from all major roles is good and my goodness, isn't the father of Jordon menacing! He is probably a pussycat in real life.

The finale should be interesting this evening...

missdeke Thu 21-Mar-24 15:33:13

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive, One reason why I have always tried to tell the truth.

Jason Watkins is a brilliant actor.

Beechnut Thu 21-Mar-24 12:16:33

I wasn’t sure at first but have stuck with it and looking forward to see how it ends.

sodapop Thu 21-Mar-24 09:16:43

Yes I agree BlueBelle at least there is a story line that is not overly convoluted.

Calendargirl Thu 21-Mar-24 06:54:47

Both Jordan and his dad play a good part.

Equally chilling.

Poor Beth! Lumbered with sorting out all Simon’s problems, and now she’s knocked down the gunman!

Who is looking after Sophie whilst all this is going on? Must be at school I suppose.

BlueBelle Wed 20-Mar-24 23:05:23

I think it’s a pretty good drama and some good acting at least there’s a story to it

Primrose53 Wed 20-Mar-24 22:29:15

Calendargirl

I think you’re right Primrose.

The nasty manager needs to watch his back.

Let’s hope Paul sorts him out.

I guessed right then! Paul sorted him good and proper - horrible bully deserved it.

That kid who plays Jordan is very convincing.

Deedaa Wed 20-Mar-24 21:41:14

I watched the first part. Jason Watkins was excellent as usual but I'd had enough of all the lies that are obviously going to be found out and I felt I didn't need the tension of waiting for it all to fall apart.
