Have just watched this brilliant film and was so impressed. The main actress Marisa Abela sings all the songs and sounds uncannily like Amy. Great supporting cast too with Eddie Marsan as her father Mitch and Lesley Manville as her grandmother, Cynthia. Apologies if there is another thread already on this but did a search and couldn't find one.

My friend went and also said how good it was and how incredible Marisa Abela's performance was too. I am a big fan of Eddie Marsan so can't wait to see it myself.

My daughter (a mega Amy fan) and I saw it today. We were both surprised at how much we enjoyed it, as many of the reviews have been negative. The main criticism being how both Blake and Mitch are portrayed in a positive light compared to what has always been said about them and the part they both played in Amy’s life.
Our only quibble was with who played Blake, he wasn’t at all like what we remembered him to be physically. We also thought it would have been good had the final song been of the real Amy singing.
Even knowing in advance how it would obviously end, we both still shed a few tears. Such a waste of a hugely talented young woman.

I saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. Marisa Abela is excellent as Amy. It is a condensed story of her life, of course, but enough to give a flavour of how difficult it was for her. She had a rare talent.

I saw Marisa Abela in something called "Industry" on BBC, and thought she was talented. I'd like to see Back to Black, I loved Amy Winehouse. Although not all the reviews of this film were good, ultimately, though those are others opinions, so it's up to the viewer to make up their own mind.
