The Responder - I'm confused

I enjoyed the first series of The Responder and thought the acting was excellent.

In the second series, the acting is still great but I have completely lost track of what is happening. That may be down to the fact that I am having difficulty hearing some of the dialogue, but the plot is so confusing to me. Can anyone, has has a bit more brainpower than me, explain what is happening please?

I'm the same - I liked the first series, but cannot understand what's going on in this one. I watched it last week, couldn't follow it, so didn't bother to watch it the other night. Doesn't Martin Freeman look old?

Can you use subtitles?

I use subtitles for everything (where there ARE some) but still can't follow some plots grin

I use subtitles for everything apart from the news but finding the Responder very difficult to follow and who is who and how they connect I thought it was just me and my old brain in a muddle

🤷🏼‍♂️hands up I’m very confused too. First series was great. One thing I can’t figure out is who the guy is that said you still owe me 15 grand!! Anyone enlighten me?

No I don’t know either, was he the owner of the gun that was found in a garage ??

You're definitely not alone. I have one more episode to watch and am hoping it all becomes clear. I've just watched the episode where he spends most of it looking for somewhere to sleep!

I'm a bit weary of all the swearing though. Don't normally mind that much, but it's constant.

The plot makes more sense towards the end.

I'm glad it's not just me. Thanks for your responses. I will, slightly reluctantly, persevere and hope it all comes together at the end. Of course, as suggested, I should put the subtitles on.

We’ve decided not to persevere. Just not an enjoyable experience.

I enjoyed the first series but found the second hard to follow so like others stopped after the first episode

I feel exactly the same as many other posters. I thought S1 was great but haven’t enjoyed S2 nearly as much. The continuity is all over the place and it’s badly scripted and edited. The acting has been good. I thought Blue Lines was more realistic.

Yes we haven't watched after the first episode.Really enjoyed Series 1 but found it hard to follow and tbh just feels a bit too grim .There's so much depressing news that we both gravitate more uplifting programmes recently. And we've often enjoyed gritty series like Spiral,Line of Duty etc in the past. But I feel we should try watch more of Blue Lights as we only watched 2 ep8sodes,but everyone seems to rate that highly.

Am on series 2 and to be honest its almost too far fetched to be believed.
