For anyone wanting a blast from the past, ITV4 presently shows Auf Wiedersehen Pet re-runs (check schedules, pretty late, but recordable).

Has anyone watched the drama, The Last Bus starring Timothy Spall. It is about an old man who travels across country to spread his late wife's ashes. It is well worth watching and will bring tears to your eyes because of all the pitfalls he encounters on the way to fulfil his late wife's wishes.

He should have got an award for this drama and I am so pleased he has received a BAFTA for The 6th commandment.

Yes he's a good actor but always seems to have the same expression on his gave. I’ve noticed this more and more in recent years.

You need to watch Auf Wiedersehen Pet to see how convincing Timothy was as someone from the Black Country and few people realised he was actually a Londoner.

I'm hoping that the dishy James Norton will be the next James Bond. I think he'd make a brilliant one.
He can act a bit, too.

Me too. if I were 25 years younger I would be stalking him! 🤣he is just perfectly gorgeous.

But why wasn't James Norton nominated for a BAFTA for best actor for Happy Valley. Incomprehensible. He was so good, acting against type.

He really is one of our finest and I'm so glad he got the BAFTA for this particular role.I could literally have climbed into the TV set and throttled the men who exploited him.
I shouldn't have found his "Fungus the Bogeyman" hilarious.... but I did. Outside Edge. Auf Wiedersein Pet . So many, many more.
I always watch anything with him in it as he's rarely in rubbish........

I’m relieved that Happy Valley won some awards, too. Some of the awards went to programmes I’ve never heard of. I thought the presenters were very good. I really enjoyed it.

It's about time his acting prowess was properly recognised.

He made such a humble acceptance speech.

Just realised this is old news! Oops.

keepingquiet Tue 14-May-24 15:36:39

Me too- it was an astonishing and very human perfomance rightly deserved.

tickingbird Tue 14-May-24 15:35:40

I’ve just read that Timothy Spall has won his first BAFTA for his amazing acting in The Sixth Commandment. So richly deserved. I recall many of us commented at the time he deserved an award for his portrayal of the tragic Peter Farquhar (apologies if spelling incorrect). I’m so pleased.
