I’m so loving this series. All the places I travelled to with my ex and then took our children to. I’ve loved Rylan ever since I listened to an interview with him on a Paul Theroux lockdown podcast.

I can recall reading an article about Rylan and the story of his X factor friend who was the victim of rape, she was very open about how supportive he was.
The story also mentioned that her legal team believed Rylan played a vital role in securing the conviction. As he preserved the scene, stopped others from entering the room before the police got there, and gave impressive evidence about what had happened.
That suggests a loyal, wise friend and rather decent human being!

It has the same feel good factor as Richard E Grants Write Around the World.

I loved it. Have watched all three episodes and would like to watch it again.

A girl I used to work with worked alongside Rylan years ago when he was cabin crew and said he was a lovely person even back then.

Rylan Clark was never cabin crew

He always wanted to be though, and thanks to Virgin Atlantic achieved his dream in March this year when he joined the flight crew on a London to Miami flight for a one off occasion.

Well she told us she trained alongside him! How strange...

Absolutely loved this programme , they are brilliant together, very honest and open and I was in tears with Rob! Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I’ve loved Ryland since his first audition on XFactor in 2012.

But you still don’t know his name doesn’t have a D at the end? 🤭

We’re loving it too. Would usually avoid Rylan but he’s won me round. I love this different angle for a celebrity travel show. All 3 cities hold great memories for me, which is what drew me in the first place.

When Rylan first started hitting our tvs as a presenter I found him extremely irritating. His constant asides and overdone 'campness' was just too much. He has now settled down into a very good presenter and although I haven't seen it yet I am really looking forward to a binge watch of the series with Rob Rinder.

I think these two guys are amazing. They have both been through the emotional mill especially Rylan who opened up that he went down to 9 st and tried to top himself. All due to people treating g him like an idiot which from this programme he clearly is not. Made my husband watch all episodes and he loved it and thought they were genuinely nice guys. It was so wondsee all the places I have been but through two different sets of eyes. Brilliant programmes.

An absolutely fabulous programme. How I wish I could afford that trip.
They are a brilliant pairing - more please -

I have loved watching this series, as it's lovely to see the friendship develop between the two of them, aswell as learn a lot about the cities they visit. Have always liked Rob Rinder, and he has done amazing work on Holocaust education, for which he received an MBE, along with his mother. Rylan has opened up a lot about himself and shown how much he has learnt about art. I believe Rob divorced in 2018, so not that recently.

Rylan' is very much a construct, and the man behind the mask (real name Ross) is very clever and sensitive.

He actually says this in episode 2 Doodledog

Doodledog Fri 24-May-24 09:58:05

I'm not a fan of 'celebrity holiday jaunts' (lovely phrase grin) either, but I like both Rylan and Rob Rinder, so I might pick this up at some point. Rylan is much cleverer than his image would suggest - 'Rylan' is very much a construct, and the man behind the mask (real name Ross) is very clever and sensitive.

Sparklefizz Fri 24-May-24 09:52:33

I think they are both genuinely kind men, but I sense that Rob is very fragile at the moment. Maybe his divorce is very recent?

MissAdventure Thu 23-May-24 22:48:05

I can take him or leave him, but my daughter was quite a fan.
She thought there was much more to him than meets the eye, and that he is genuinely kind.

It was thirty years ago but I can remember standing in front of a Madonna and Child in the Uffizzi with tears streaming down my face. I’m not at all religious but something about the painting got to me; it took me totally by surprise. The other painting that has the same effect on me is Stubb’s Whistlejacket.

Elrel Thu 23-May-24 21:36:28

I watched the Florence one as I once visited and loved the city. I’ve long liked Rob Rinder but wasn’t sure about Rylan. His reaction to The Birth of Venus and to David gave me new insight into him. Now I must watch the rest of the series!

Deedaa Thu 23-May-24 21:18:30

I like the fact that Rylan doesn't ask the usual daft celebrity questions. He actually wants to learn.

Joseann Wed 22-May-24 06:58:16

Rob and Rylan's discussion on the meaning of the word "Renaissance" was actually quite meaningful and touching. They showed how Art and Culture have a timeless relevance in our own lives.

Deedaa Tue 21-May-24 23:15:10

By the time I got halfway through the Florence episode I realised I hadn't stopped smiling since it started. Just such an enjoyable programme.
