Will Carla be able to keep all her staff on, with the rise in minimum wage and employer national insurance?
Ditto the Rovers, the Bistro, Roy’s Rolls, the taxi firm (as neither Steve nor Tim seem to do much, so assume they employ some drivers, plus miserable Eileen of course).
Hardly any real work being done at all the above, they all get to down tools at any family emergency, but then they seem to take on unqualified staff at the drop of a hat, who then are left in full charge after a day or so.
Such is soapland.
I'm always quite shocked at the 'Will you take over while I sort out the blaze at my house/fistfight in my front garden/ murdered relative on the cobbles' request that has happened so often in Roy's, and the person obliging never EVER washes their hands before they tie on his apron and start cooking and serving. Ditto the kebab shop. Small niggle - but it gets me every time.
