The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

Calendargirl

Will Carla be able to keep all her staff on, with the rise in minimum wage and employer national insurance?

Ditto the Rovers, the Bistro, Roy’s Rolls, the taxi firm (as neither Steve nor Tim seem to do much, so assume they employ some drivers, plus miserable Eileen of course).

Hardly any real work being done at all the above, they all get to down tools at any family emergency, but then they seem to take on unqualified staff at the drop of a hat, who then are left in full charge after a day or so.

Such is soapland.

I'm always quite shocked at the 'Will you take over while I sort out the blaze at my house/fistfight in my front garden/ murdered relative on the cobbles' request that has happened so often in Roy's, and the person obliging never EVER washes their hands before they tie on his apron and start cooking and serving. Ditto the kebab shop. Small niggle - but it gets me every time.

A lot of the knicker factory girls will be on a minimum wage but they can all afford to drop into Roy's or the Rovers at the drop of a hat.

I wonder what Jesse's motives are.

Quite a few characters are leaving, I hope Kit goes soon, preferably to the local prison.

Calendargirl Fri 08-Nov-24 13:05:17

Oh, I wondered about the cost! £4000!

And it was only half of Paul, silly Billy allowing the other half to get pinched.

Gullible or what.

Beechnut Fri 08-Nov-24 12:40:38

They are hard up one minute and throwing money around like there is no tomorrow the next 🙄

Sarnia Fri 08-Nov-24 11:56:19

I was intrigued by Paul's ashes going into space. It costs just short of £4000. Where has Bernie found the money for this? I don't remember Dev or anyone offering to pay for it.

Calendargirl Thu 07-Nov-24 14:48:55

I thought Bernie’s idea of sending Paul’s ashes into space was ridiculous.

That was before I watched them all viewing it in the Rovers.

I found it very moving and quite beautiful actually. Pity it was spoilt by Billy.

🥲

Sallys exercise routine and Masons face made me laugh. Not so much Billy and his bad drunk act. Why didn’t he go home to get blotto rather than sit on the street?

Calendargirl Tue 05-Nov-24 17:27:22

Aveline

Daisy's already suspicious of him...

Hmm, maybe…

But she still fancies him.

😍

Calendargirl Tue 05-Nov-24 15:25:25

But he’s quite attractive (Kit) even if he’s bent and murderous.

He will obviously be Daisy’s new squeeze.

Pity she is half his height, well, actually, so is the rest of the cast.

He’s very tall.

vegansrock Tue 05-Nov-24 13:33:04

I’m fed up with the whole Joel story now. Kit is obviously a nasty piece of work.

Aveline Tue 05-Nov-24 12:51:34

Ooh or Dev and Bernie's wedding!! angry

Aveline Tue 05-Nov-24 12:51:02

Oh Gawd I can't wait till Christmas for this to be dragged out. Will Gail's departure not be the big Christmas story?

Sarnia Tue 05-Nov-24 08:18:04

Clearly, Kit is a bent copper. He will get his comeuppance. Enter PC Tinker to save the day! It might be the big Christmas storyline but knowing how soap land drags things out that may be Christmas 2026.

Devorgilla Mon 04-Nov-24 22:55:41

I am getting the feeling that Kit is a control freak and a misogynist. He doesn't like strong women. Hidden depths, as yet to be revealed. Not sure he was the killer but bet he knows who is.

Calendargirl Mon 04-Nov-24 20:58:44

Calendargirl

I thought maybe Kit was driving the red car, and he is somehow involved in all Joel’s crimes, and therefore wanted to get rid of him?

Or maybe not?

What did I say?

Sarnia Sat 02-Nov-24 12:05:40

When Todd was chatting to Billy I wouldn't have been surprised to see them kiss. Thankfully they didn't so why do I get a sneaky feeling it is just a matter of time?

LovesBach Fri 01-Nov-24 22:37:37

Sorry - the above message was related to Ken looking so good in his suit and panama - ended up on the wrong page.

LovesBach Fri 01-Nov-24 22:36:46

When you've got it, you've got it...

Calendargirl Fri 01-Nov-24 20:25:43

Told you.

grin

Calendargirl Fri 01-Nov-24 20:16:35

Does Ryan not realise that Kit is pumping him for info on Daisy so he, Kit, can make a move on her?

I expect the film he, Jenny and Daisy watch will be ‘The Holiday’.

Surprise, surprise.

Beechnut Fri 01-Nov-24 19:44:43

I fear she’s going to help Ken spend that win by giving him ideas that benefit her also.

Calendargirl Fri 01-Nov-24 19:07:56

Hmm, if she got Ken to marry her, change the will, she could inherit the house and turn Steve, Amy, Tracy if she returns, out on the street.

And spend the remainder of the premium bond win.

Charleygirl5 Fri 01-Nov-24 18:41:41

OMG that did not enter my head. I thought she, Cassie was out for his money and then she will make a hasty retreat.
