The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

Doodledog Tue 29-Oct-24 15:22:49

I'm guessing that she was hit by the red car.

I don't know why she wouldn't have reported that at the time, or what Kit has to do with things, though. That storyline is confusing and annoying.

I hope it turns out that Kit is not Bernie's son at all (she wouldn't have recognised him after so long) but an imposter, and that he gets written out and replaced with a better son, (ideally played by Peter Ash grin). Then Carla and Lisa can get together, Lisa can help Craigie to keep law and order on't cobbles, and Lauren can get on with her life. Does she really love Bobby and not Max, incidentally?

Will David buy the house with his ill-gotten gains, or will Jesse swindle them out of him before running off with Gail (or without her)? Where will the Platts live if not in the house they've had for decades? Did Gail and Martin buy it, or did Gail live there with 'our' Brian before getting together with Martin? Either way, she's been there for over 30 years - I remember David being born when they lived there, and he's the same age as my son grin.

Yes David is getting some good lines at the mo.
Wonder what caused DS Swain’s injuries and why she’s covering them up?

David Platt is the best character in the programme. Just when it looked like he was going a bit soft, he blackmailed Jesse by saying he could make Nick and Sarah come round to Jesse or he could make them hate him. Brilliant touch.

I’m nosy, and know it’s none of my business, but I would love to know what happened with Sean Whatsit. It must have been a big deal for them to cut bits that had already been filmed and sack him.

It's human nature to be nosy! As you say, they were well on the way to finalising the filming when he was sacked on the spot. Lots of possible scenarios for that.

And John Thompson’s acting seems forced somehow. (Wanting to marry Gail!) confused

The whole scenario is awful.

Martin Platt’s return would have been so much more realistic and believable.

[sigh]

Clawdy Mon 28-Oct-24 08:07:10

So Gail will marry Jesse.....hmm. She looks more like his mum than a girlfriend.

Heather18 Sun 27-Oct-24 17:35:01

Corrie is on tonight at 8pm.

Doodledog Fri 25-Oct-24 20:34:07

Oh, I forgot about that. I've been watching atrocious 'comedies' from the 70s and 80s in lieu of Corrie. I didn't realise it wasn't going to be on until I sat down at 7.30.

I'll probably watch it in bed later.

vegansrock Fri 25-Oct-24 20:20:08

Corrie not on Friday this week, it’s on Sunday but you can watch it today on ITVx

Calendargirl Wed 23-Oct-24 20:44:34

What has happened to Max’s girlfriend?

Sabrina?

Have they finished?

Am fed up of Lauren and Max mooning about together, and that awful Bobby, who can’t act, being gooseberry.

Stupid storyline.

To me, Gail and Jesse just doesn’t sit right.

What a shame that all the business with Martin Platt went wrong, whatever it was.

That would have been a much happier, more realistic conclusion to Gail’s life on the Street.

I know I am several episodes behind!

No, it doesnt sit right at all.

Even the actors acting around it all, all seem rather bemused. And "unbelieving".
And asking awkward questions too!

Aveline Tue 22-Oct-24 09:59:39

Suggestion for writers: sell Gail's house to some new people and the Platts can all move in with Audrey at Grasmere Drive. Good to have some new blood in the street. Not literally, but with Harvey in the picture you can't rule that out!

Calendargirl Tue 22-Oct-24 09:54:20

Mmm, a money laundering report will have to be produced by the bank, I would think, and David should not be made aware of this.

How much cash are we talking about? Has the amount ever been mentioned?

I thought Bethany’s hospital bill was about £2k a day, plus flights etc.

If so, the cash might be enough for a deposit on the house…..

LovesBach Tue 22-Oct-24 08:56:14

His bank manager or solicitor will want him to explain exactly where he got the cash and show an audit trail. However - this is Corrie, and houses are bought and sold within days, even hours. How quickly did Kit buy Gemma and Chesney's house? It seemed to be all done and dusted in his lunch hour.

Clawdy Tue 22-Oct-24 08:15:37

I guess he's hoping to buy the house, yes. But producing such a huge amount of cash will surely be regarded as very odd?

vegansrock Tue 22-Oct-24 06:55:11

So why is David keeping all that cash under the stairs? Is he going to use it to buy the house?

Lovetopaint037 Sun 20-Oct-24 10:10:22

Ridiculous (but so very Corrie) that police interviews are held in a cafe and any sensitive personal goings on are always within earshot of others. No going home and in privacy to discuss things why not air it all in the Rovers or in the street.

Doodledog Sat 19-Oct-24 16:42:48

I doubt that DeeDee did it either. I wonder if Joel drugged her and she hallucinated killing him? I once took too much Night Nurse and woke up convinced I had faked my own death during the night grin.

Beechnut Sat 19-Oct-24 09:07:56

Corrie can confuse me at times. Took me a while to realise why Kevin and Abbie were invited to Ronnie’s party.

BlueBelle Sat 19-Oct-24 08:53:38

Nah DeeDee didn't do it for sure just a red herring to keep us watching

vegansrock Sat 19-Oct-24 08:32:31

And when did they conduct interviews in a cafe?

Calendargirl Sat 19-Oct-24 07:37:28

Sarnia

When did detectives start discussing private details of an ongoing investigation in a crowded pub?

Precisely.

Beechnut Fri 18-Oct-24 23:38:45

I don’t think DeeDee did it.
