The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

Some GNs come up with some very good ideas for storylines. What would you come up with for Todd? He seems to be forgotten by the writers. He was a conniving little devil once upon a time but now he is this compliant undertaker's assistant and it doesn't fully suit him, I don't think. What would the soap script writers on here come up with to shock us or at least brighten Todd's life?

It’s been on social media for a while that Stu would be leaving, moving to Germany to be near Eliza. His 3 year contract was up, and he either didn’t want to renew it or more likely not given the option.

I thought he would be in until Christmas, didn’t expect him to waltz off with his guitar and woolly hat last night.

Yasmeen will have more to moan about now he’s gone.

Aveline Tue 15-Oct-24 12:15:18

I wonder if the woman eying up Nick in the bistro last night was Willow? Trying to gather dirt before the court case.

Doodledog Tue 15-Oct-24 09:41:29

She had sepsis, though. I don't think you recover from that easily.

lemsip Tue 15-Oct-24 09:37:21

and why is bethany still in hospital, if you have a stoma you can lead a normal life!

Someone mentioned that it is possiblwe to watch that night's episode beforehand in ITV X. I have tried, but it is not there.

There are two versions of ITVX - the paid one and the free one. It's possible that the new service is just on the paid version.

I also felt that Stu's departure was sudden - was there any lead-up to it? He and Yasmeen were never well suited, IMO. I'd rather she had left than him though. She's a terrible actor, and all the character does is moan and mope about.

Did we ever find out who the mysterious Willow (the leaser/owner of The Institute) is? We only ever saw her (or him) on a computer screen, as a CGI like Oliver, so it could be anyone. I'm now wondering if Kit could be involved in that? I hate loose ends, so I may be overthinking, though grin.

I'd like to see a link between the Institute, the grooming ring and the baddies in jail, have them all sent to a penal colony somewhere, and go back to domestic stories featuring all the characters, like back in t'day.

Oh, no! The other night while looking for a series to watch on Amazon Prime, I came across Coronation Street. I am in the US and don't have your TV options so I had never seen an episode of Coronation Street. I have gotten quite interested after only 15 episodes but this must go on forever! Some of you Grans watched it as children so it's going to take a long time to catch up! I'm worried I'll never learn all the names! But I will soldier on!

Lisaangel10 Tue 15-Oct-24 09:07:54

Well Stu has gone, wasn’t expecting that. What about all his hopes for getting Mason on the straight and narrow? Weeks spent focussing on that and in a flash he’s gone.

I have actually forgotten what happened to his daughter and granddaughter.

Is he doing panto or something. It seemed a very hurried departure.

Sarnia Tue 15-Oct-24 08:50:29

Don't hurry back Stu. Shame Yasmeen didn't want to keep him company. Who is going to be in the frame for Joel's murder, then? Looks like the Bailey brothers have a secret to hide where that is concerned. When Kit starts making a list of likely suspects he is going to need a very long piece of paper and why is he going around, on his own, writing down what Lauren and David are saying to his questions? Surely he should be doing that at the police station with another member of staff and it being recorded. Who is Kit trying to frame?

Clawdy Tue 15-Oct-24 08:47:12

So we're supposed to think Ronnie and his brother were the killers......don't think so! They will drag this "whodunnit" out for weeks.

I was a bit distracted watching that episode and felt like I’d missed an episode. When did Stu suddenly decide he was shipping out?

Even more confusing than Hope’s doctor’s home visit for me was the fact I didn’t realise it was Dr Gaddas. I thought it was Mrs Crawshaw the head teacher. I was thinking the second home visit in a few days from a teacher and this time she’s delivered a prescription! I only realised when I read this thread that it was a GP visit 😆

Aveline Mon 14-Oct-24 21:22:34

It certainly was busy. Good though to keep several stories bubbling along.

vegansrock Mon 14-Oct-24 21:19:53

Bit of a disjointed episode - multiple stories I feel like I missed something. Stu leaving suddenly. Joel’s body found then it’s murder. Do the Baileys know something? Hope gets a doctor’s visit with a chest infection - really? Sarah and Adam, Nick and Sam, Bethany and Daisy, Kit and Craigie, plus other bits and pieces.

sharon103 Sun 13-Oct-24 14:33:01

BlueBelle

She has always seemed very unreal to me I was hoping she was going not my favourite character at all She can take Sarah with her too although Sarah is very pretty but annoying

Yes BlueBelle, Same here. They and their storyline get on my pip.

Gail has simpered and blinked/fluttered her eyelashes since she was (supposedly) 17 and worked in a shoe shop.

I know nothing of the actress, who may be lovely, but the Gail character is utterly awful, and the sooner she goes the better.

The whole family are always stabbing one another in the back, and seem very money-oriented (as opposed to family-oriented), but still live on top of one another.

Sarnia Sun 13-Oct-24 11:26:08

Gail and Jesse deserve each other. I shall be glad to see the back of Gail. She whispers so many of her lines and when she walked in with Jesse she had such a simpering smile on her face that my youngest granddaughter asked me if she had a stomach ache.

vegansrock Sun 13-Oct-24 07:08:15

I’m guessing after Bethany actress goes on maternity leave, she will come back and the stoma will never be mentioned again, as the scriptwriters forget about it - they have form for doing this - Jacks amputated foot, Carla’s kidney transplant etc

sodapop Sat 12-Oct-24 17:48:18

I thought the way Gail was gazing up at Jesse smacked of desperation rather than anything else.
The Gemma story line is silly as others have said, absolutely no sign of the quads whilst she lounges on the sofa wallowing.

Aveline Sat 12-Oct-24 13:33:53

My DGS has a most peculiar haircut: almost shaved at the sides but with a mullet like bit left long on top. He has very curly hair so it looks like a plate of spaghetti on his head.

Lisaangel10 Sat 12-Oct-24 12:23:42

It’s called a skin fade haircut.

Lisaangel10 Sat 12-Oct-24 12:17:45

Aveline

There's something odd about his hair/hairline too

I think he is trying to look like the young boys who have it all shaved down to the skin at the sides and just leave it longer on the top. I was waiting for my husband in the Turkish barbers and all the lads were asking for it.

John Thomson's acting ability's severely tested by declaring undying love for Whispering Gale, although he has perfected looking gormless. I'm finding it really irritating but quite amusing at the same time.

Lisaangel10 Sat 12-Oct-24 09:36:44

Wouldn’t it be hilarious if Ken proposed to Cassie. As long as he’s breathing Ken will be chasing the ladies.
