I came across this old Play for Today . Nothing much happened in it but I did enjoy it. Anyone else watch it?

No, I watched it at the time and thought what an absolute load of drivel it was!

My conclusion that actors/ actresses of the calibre of John Cleese, Alison Steadman, Jason Watkins, Peter Egan agreeing to be in this dross must have needed to pay for a new kitchen or bathroom.

How it got commissioned for a second series…..🤷‍♀️

Please ignore my previous rant!!!

I am thinking of something else!

This was an Alan Bennett classic, and I am a huge fan of his.

Sorry Alan!

Very poignant. Watched it years ago and thought it amusing but this second viewing, in my old age, struck the soul a bit more.

I love Alan Bennett, but I'm not sure I've seen this.
I must try to watch it.

Where was it filmed?

Calendar girl I agree about the other programme. It was dire!

I can answer my own question after looking it up. It was filmed in my old home town of Morecambe.

I remember seeing it years ago, think it was part of an Alan Bennet series, it was poignant not to say depressing but like all his plays/films/books says so much about the human condition.I could see them all again, as always good.
