Just seen a clip of him at a pride event where he wishes Kemi Badenoch would shut up and disappear. Then he says we should all be kind to everyone. Except women perhaps??

GrannyGravy13 Mon 01-Jul-24 16:59:49

I have just been googling Pride around the world.

Seattle 100’s of naked men parading and jiggling their bits and offensive language at anyone suggesting they should cover up.

New York, descending into brawls, even ripping people’s clothes off.

London, fettish clothing, obscene placards spoiling it for the rest. It was good to see the Armed Forces and Service marching.

Still not convinced Pride is for children…

VioletSky Mon 01-Jul-24 16:50:55

Pride is for everyone, truly, every single one of you would be welcomed

VioletSky Mon 01-Jul-24 16:48:38

Do we need to discuss further how Pride is set up to include children as a positive experience or does everyone now feel comfortable with children attending?

VioletSky Mon 01-Jul-24 16:46:45

My name is Violet

And I am right here...

It's impossible to like or dislike someone you don't know.

They may have a totally different persona online than in real life 🤔

Thank you Callistemon213.

Reasonable people know that, which is why, as a reasonable person, I ignored VS’s comment.

Smileless2012 Mon 01-Jul-24 16:37:55

A great picture Wyllow and that's what I call marching with Pride smile.

VioletSky Mon 01-Jul-24 16:30:04

All good my end

VioletSky

Mollygo are you ok?

I know you don't like me very much but this is all very unnecessary

🤣🤣🤣🤣
I often feel the same about your posts.

VioletSky

I could claim to speak for everyone at Pride but I don't.

I’m so glad to hear that.
It would be incredible puffery, were you to do so, and also untrue.

Well done for refraining.

VioletSky Mon 01-Jul-24 15:56:09

Mollygo The available context will tell you several things

1. that is a question in response to other comments

2. I attend Pride

3. I have defended Children going to Pride as a positive experience

4. My name is Violet, not VS

Mollygo Mon 01-Jul-24 15:52:08

Today @13.02 VS you mentioned banning Pride.
Here’s the quote.
Should Pride be banned?

I answered.

VioletSky Mon 01-Jul-24 15:48:38

Mollygo

Sorry that was in answer to VS not BS.

Neither is in answer to me

1, my name is Violet, that's my name, I quite like it, my Dad gave it to me

2, Whatever comment you are replying to wasn't made by me anyway

Wyllow3 Mon 01-Jul-24 15:24:07

I must admit I was surprised but proud of armed forces allowed.

Smileless2012 Mon 01-Jul-24 14:56:53

It's been a long time coming Wyllow, too long.

Wyllow3 Mon 01-Jul-24 14:54:38

Yes, always the way on a lot of marches/footy and always very frustrating when they eat up the headlines.
I was surprised but pleased to see to was OK to be gay from armed forces tho in the London clip.

Smileless2012 Mon 01-Jul-24 14:38:04

the only disruption being people in rainbow costumes who were decidedly drunk and waving bottles such a shame for the genuine participants Molly.

Mollygo Mon 01-Jul-24 14:29:01

Sorry that was in answer to VS not BS.

Mollygo Mon 01-Jul-24 14:27:39

Really BS?
Why would you want to ban Pride. Some people enjoy it. The local one fills the town centre.
The police this year remarked on the relatively peaceful occasion, the only disruption being people in rainbow costumes who were decidedly drunk and waving bottles.
I wouldn’t take children because of that and because some of the participants think it’s clever to wear really vulgar costumes, like the one outside the library-remember that one?

Nobody is forced to go.

The funny thing is, we’ve seen that if females have a gathering proclaiming pride in being female, there is always violence offered from TRA.

Out of curiosity looked up London Pride march

There is what GG13 describes but also London Fire Brigade, and armed forces marching. Asked DS and he said OK for 11 yr old to go, lots of explaining can be done in the right sort of way under parent control .Bits of the parade make me think of Mardi Gras dressing up.

Yes, I remember DD going to big parades in Sydney. It was a huge affair there before here, called the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

VioletSky you do not know me or my friends, how dare you tell me what I can post!!!

I didn't but I don't think it is right to speak for others in an effort to prove a point...

I could claim to speak for everyone at Pride but I don't

Goodness me - are they all your friends?

I presume GrannyGravy knows her friends (it would be odd if she didn't) and knows their opinions.

Wyllow3 Mon 01-Jul-24 13:54:19

Up to the parents, not "necessary". Just part of life. Depends where you live, too, my GC live back of beyond and see very little of life.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 01-Jul-24 13:37:57

Wyllow3 I can se that it could/would lead to having conversations with an eleven + child.

I just question is it necessary for a stereotypical straight family to take children to Pride.
