Brothers and Sisters on UK TV Play. I'm totally addicted. 106 episodes of about 40 mins each.
Have you watched any of it?
Tell me your thoughts if you are or have.
It's a must watch if you are looking for something.
The gorgeous Rob Lowe is in it.

I m guessing UKplay isn’t on Freeview

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 05:35:36

It is, BlueBelle. It is now called U, but it’s there. It used to be UKTV Play, and combines Drama, Dave and other channels. It’s all repeats of British television shows. It’s quite good. If you haven’t found it yet, it’s worth looking out for it.

Do you know what number it is on then just curious as I do trawl round a lot but never noticed the name

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 06:34:27

I think it depends how you’ve set up your tv.

It won’t be a number BlueBelle, it’s like I Player or ITVX.

You’ll need to download the app.

BlueBelle Sun 30-Jun-24 07:13:24

Ahh thanks Calandargirl I didn’t think I d seen it around that solves that then

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 07:54:18

It's worth downloading it though - the various ways to do this are shown in the link I posted.

Yes, some good stuff on UKTV Play, or just ‘U’ as it’s going to be called from mid July.

Calendargirl Sun 30-Jun-24 09:06:55

Why do they need to change the names though?

🤷‍♀️

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 11:11:04

Maybe they plan more programmes from outside the UK? I think they have some Australian ones on there already.

Yep, watched the whole lot on Sky a few years ago - great way to escape from every day life.

DH & I watched & enjoyed it all, some years ago. At the time it was on a "terrestrial " channel, not on Sky.

I didn't know it had been on before. We are always looking for things to watch as the usual channels, BBC1, ITV seem to show nothing but repeats, game shows and reality tv shows.

Blimey this goes back a bit!

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 16:30:23

Is it an Australian soap opera? I vaguely remember one called something similar ages ago. I didn't watch it, but heard the theme tune.

grannydarkhair Sun 30-Jun-24 16:34:57

I watched it on C4 years ago and really enjoyed it. It had a few familiar faces, Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Rachel Griffiths amongst others and one of my, since then, screen crushes Matthew Rhys. I remember being astonished when I learnt he was actually Welsh and not American.

Doodlebug I think you are thinking of Sons & Daughters.
I don't know how we missed this the first time round.

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 17:09:35

Ah, yes, you're probably right. Thanks. grin

Beechnut Sun 30-Jun-24 18:58:34

I loved Sons and Daughters. I used to tape it and binge watch on a Friday evening.

Doodledog Sun 30-Jun-24 19:45:14

I didn't watch it, but I do remember thinking that Prisoner Cell Block H was a film and watching it late one night when I was a student. It ran for about 20 years😂

Reubenblue Sun 30-Jun-24 20:55:32

Thank you for the suggestion Moonwatcher, just watched the first episode and it’s drawn me in.

BlueBelle Sun 30-Jun-24 21:06:29

I m not watching it but as I was scrolling through the channels today I saw Brothers and Sisters is on Channel 25 Freeview in case anyone else wants to watch and doesn’t have UkTV

If you have enjoyed this I can recommend Chesapeake Shores on Netflix if you have it.

Yes, I'm watching it second time around and still love i! Very disappointed there's only one episode on now, though. Brilliant programme.
