I didn't recognise him either! I just saw it somewhere that it was him. I agree. He is.

Oh I see. I've never watched Emmerdale. I don't watch EastEnders either but I did back when Mehmet was in it.

Me too...I'd forgotten about Ozcabs. Didn't recognise him.
Much more fanciable now.

Was he? He played Mehmet Osman in EastEnders. I didn't realise he was in Emmerdale too.

Sorry, the young detective was in Emmerdale relatively recently. The Older inspector was in Eastenders years ago.
Getting my Mehmets mixed up.

I'm enjoying it, and I think the young detective is rather good.

I just loved the books but I am enjoying the series with Istanbul as the background. It’s such a beautiful city and the programme illustrates the westernised Turks very well. I’d just love to go back to visit again.

We're loving this. I didn't recognise Mehmet from EastEnders.

I think he was in Emmerdale.

Binge watched and enjoyed it even though it was quite predictable and clichéd.
I learned a bit about Turkish life though.

I nearly gave up after the first 2 episodes but the last 4 episodes have seemed better. I don’t think the actor playing Suleyman is very good with little personality but I like the woman detective. The main draw is the character Cetin who is a mesmerising.

I'm enjoying it - but I've not read the books. Loving seeing Istanbul, which is probably my favourite city in the whole world (after Edinburgh, of course!) I'm also enjoying practising my Turkish language skills.

Having watched four episodes I now feel a bit bored with it.
The older main detective is a really good actor, the younger one not so much.

Yes, an interesting series so far, loving the sense of Istanbul, you can almost smell the smoke and food....loving the cats too. Haven't read the books, but will investigate.

TerriBull Wed 17-Jul-24 10:01:11

Yes I only watched it to see Istanbul, have only seen 1 episode so far, I'll gradually catch up.

I watched it to see Istanbul. Didn’t disappoint, was fun.

We're loving this. I didn't recognise Mehmet from EastEnders.

I enjoyed it. I binge watched it. It was nice to have a different background from the usual cop shows. I liked the beautiful office with all the cats casually about. I'd never have read the book.

I’m enjoying it but agree that the books are better.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 16-Jul-24 20:39:23

I have seen the first four, wasn’t sure after the first one, but I am getting into it especially enjoying Istanbul as the setting.

Anyone watching this. I'm enjoying it but a bit hard to follow. The books are better.
