It started off mainly as a spoof and as a vehicle for the multi-talented Sir Bruce Forsyth. But now it's become oh so serious and earnest!
And recent events - allegations of bullying, abuse and harrassment - have well and truly tarnished something that was meant to be pure entertainment. Now it just seems toxic and downright nasty.
I imagine that, as usual, big money is at the root of things......
